CSKA beats Fener 101-96 after an overtime and can celebrate 2016 Euroleague title-May 15, 2016CSKA Moscow won the 2016 Euroleague title, beating 101-96 in an amazing final game theFenerbahce Ulker Istanbul. The men of coach Itoudis started really good the game, closing the first half with 20 points of advantage. In the last quarter the Turkish completed an amazing combeback from -16, reaching the overtime and missing the winner shot. CSKA won the game in the extra-time, with the points of Teodosic (19) and the Final MVPNando De Colo (196-SG-87) (21). Too many error from the free throw line for the men of coach Obradovic, not enough the effort at offensive rebound and 5 men in double digit. CSKA can celebrate the title number 7, after the last victory in 2008, under the eyes of 12250 fans at Mercedes-Benz Arena of Berlin. Starting five Fenerbahce: Bogdanovic, Sloukas, Vesely, Kalinic, Datome CSKA: De Colo, Vorontsevich, Higgins, Kurbanov, Hines The first points of the Final are for De Colo, Kalinic and Hines. Moscow tries to increase the gap starting the second quarter, but with Dixon and the free throws the men of Obradovic are again ahed 27-26, before the basket of the regular season MVP and the dunks of Vorontsevich and Kurbanov, forcing the Turkish timeout. Teodisc scores by 3 for the 35-29, CSKA loses an important possession but it's always in control, thanks to the points from the corner of De Colo (40-30 at 17'). With an amazing defense and the great offensive work CSKA reaches the 20-points lead, closing 50-30 the first half with a 13-0 open partial. Fener tries the reaction with Vesely, but Hines answers with the basket and the additional free throw. Vorontsevich sets the block on the Czech center, CSKA loses three consecutive balls and Istanbul back on -17, despite the errors of Vesely from the free throws line (1/10). Sloukas scores two times in penetration, Antic tries to help his team but CSKA keeps away the opponents with the couple De Colo-Teodosic (65-48 with 90 seconds to play). The baskets of Jackson and Dixon close the third period, 69-53 for the Russian. Udoh opens the last quarter of the season with the dunk in tap-in, correcting his error. Sloukas scores immediately by 3, De Colo reduces the distance with the free throws and Higgins finds two points in fast-break for the 87-86. Bogdanovic for the overtaking, Teodosic with the great assist for Hines and De Colo in penetration for the 91-88 with 2 minutes to the end. Udoh converts the assist of Datome, De Colo is cold with the free throws and, after the error of the Italian, Hines scores in tap-in for the +5. Khryapa blocks Kalinic, the seasonal MVP scores again after the foul and the 3-pointers of Dixon is for the -4, with only 30 seconds on the clock. Teodosic converts other two free throws, Datome scores by 3 but De Colo closes the game, 101-96 and CSKA is the 2016 Euroleague champion.
