25 Nowgreatcrowdsaccompaniedhim,andheturnedandsaidtothem,26 n“Ifanyonecomestomeandodoesnothatehisownfatherandmotherandwifeandchildrenandbrothersandsisters,pyes,andevenhisownlife,hecannotbemydisciple.27 qWhoeverdoesnotrbearhisowncrossandcomeaftermecannotbemydisciple.28 Forwhichofyou,desiringtobuildatower,doesnotsfirstsitdownandcountthecost,whetherhehasenoughtocompleteit?29 Otherwise,whenhehaslaidafoundationandisnotabletofinish,allwhoseeitbegintomockhim,30 saying,‘Thismanbegantobuildandwasnotabletofinish.’31 Orwhatking,goingouttoencounteranotherkinginwar,willnottsitdownfirstanddeliberatewhetherheisablewithtenthousandtomeethimwhocomesagainsthimwithtwentythousand?32 Andifnot,whiletheotherisyetagreatwayoff,hesendsadelegationandasksfortermsofpeace.33 uSotherefore,anyoneofyouwhovdoesnotrenounceallthathehascannotbemydisciple.
