Mr Thomas Herbert Weatherston was born at 12 Buxton Terrace in Liverpool, England on 4 May 1887. He was baptised in All Saints Church, Stonecroft, Liverpool on 17 July 1887.
He was the son of Thomas Weatherston (1850-1927), a clerk (described on his son's birth certificate as "Superintendent of entrances Liverpool Exhibition"), and Jessie Ann Jacks (1861-1923).
His father hailed from Lauden, Berwickshire, Scotland and married in Liverpool in 1886 to Jessie Ann Jacks, a native of Woolwich, Kent. Thomas had two younger brothers brothers, Donald Alexander (b. 20 December 1888) and Leslie Victor Osborne (b. 21 October 1894).
Weatherston first appears on the 1891 census with his family living at 11 Holly Grove, Litherland, Lancashire and his father was then described as a manager. The family would be at the same address by the time of the 1901 census and his father would then be described as a commissioner agent living on his own means. Thomas and his brother Donald would be listed as visitors at 45 Heaton Moor Road, Heaton Norris, Cheshire on the 1911 census, the home of a Mr John and Edith Hopwood. Both he and his brothers were described as stewards. His parents and younger brother Leslie were listed elsewhere, still at their 11 Holly Grove address.
Weatherston was on board theTitanic for her delivery trip from Belfast to Southampton. When he signed-on again in Southampton on 6 April 1912, he gave his address as 5 Kenilworth Road, Southampton, a lodgings address. As a first class saloon steward he received monthly wages of £3 15s. His previous ship had been theOlympic.
Thomas Weatherston, who was unmarried, died in the sinking and his body, if recovered, was never identified. His effects, worth £103, 10s, were administered to his father on 7 June 1912. Both his parents remained in Liverpool and died in the 1920s.
His brother Donald later married and settled in New York where he raised a family. He died in Burlington, New Jersey in 1974.
His brother Leslie served during WWI and was recorded as unmarried and incapacitated on the 1939 register. He died in Stockport in 1970.
