I'm wary when having the lens attached, if something goes wrong during the upgrade process, you won't mess up the firmware on the lens and end up with a brick. It is like, I never charge my camera ...

I usually make sure I only have one sdcard in the camera when upgrading and also do it without any lens attached as a safety precaution.

I've had good luck with Adorama on the used market in the past..but also BH is good also. It is just hit and miss, Roberts camera's used department is excellent for film equipment.

I had the 18mm years ago...hated it and sold it, bought the 16-55 zoom and still have it on my XH1 as my kit lens. Heard the 16mm prime is very nice also. But I have no need for it since I already ...
