The aim of thehistHub project was to develop a platform for the digital humanities. histHub used the outstanding databases of the partner institutions to develop digital tools, networking services and standardised data for the historical sciences in Switzerland. This range of products simplifies research in the historical sciences and ensures that valuable historical data is maintained and stored securely.
The Dodis research centre, theSAGW‘s centre of expertise for the history of Swiss foreign policy, is also becoming increasingly attractive for third-party projects. The Swiss National Science Foundation is supporting a research project by theUniversity of Basel’s Europa Institute, which is researching Swiss diplomacy from a global perspective.Read more
«Storie della diplomazia svizzera» is a series produced by the DDS research centre in collaboration withRadiotelevisione Svizzera RSI. The ten radio programmes take up contemporary historical topics in national and international politics and illustrate them with documents from theonline database Dodis. In 2013, Switzerland hosted the12th International Conference of Diplomatic Document Editors, which took place in Geneva in 2013. The International Network of Diplomatic Document Editors was founded in 1988. Delegations from different parts of the world met for the first time in London in 1989. Since then, meetings have been held every two years in Ottawa, Rome, Bonn, Washington, Canberra, Paris and Dublin. This was the first time the conference had been held in Switzerland.Read more
On special occasions, the Dodis research centre commemorated the respective research year with a special thematic focus. Using numerous documents from the online database Dodis, the inauguration of the Gotthard Base Tunnel, the Russian Revolution and the founding of the League of Nations were highlighted, among other things.
