Notes
"Let It Be" is the 12th and final studio album by the British rock groupThe Beatles. It was released in the UK on 8 May 1970, almost a month after the group's break-up, in tandem with the motion picture of the same name. It was initially released as a box set, with a 168-page book titled "Get Back", containing stills and dialogue from the film. The back sleeve has a red Apple logo, but the labels have the green Apple logo. The package retailed at £2 19s 11d, one pound more than the normal selling price of an album. On 6 November 1970 it was withdrawn and replaced by a conventional album release.
"Let It Be" had its US release on 18 May 1970 by United Artists Records under catalog number AR 34001 with a red Apple label, a gatefold sleeve and a $6.98 list price. More than 3.7 million advance orders had been placed, which at the time was the highest for any album in the history of the US recording industry.
The film "Let It Be" had its world premiere in New York City on 13 May 1970. On 20 May, UK premieres were held at Liverpool’s Gaumont Cinema and the London Pavilion. None of The Beatles attended any of the events.
In the USA, when Capitol Records purchased the United Artists record label in 1978, it issued the album on the Capitol label in a standard non-gatefold sleeve to further reduce costs, but included a color poster and photo inner sleeve.
On 6 Nov 1976, Billboard magazine reported that almost a half-million overstocked copies of "Let It Be" were purchased by Surplus Record & Tape Distributors in New Jersey of which 190,000 were from United Artists and 300,000 were from Capitol records. They were shipped to dealers across the USA to be sold.
The first CD release was on 19 Nov 1987 as catalog number CDP 7 46447 2. On the same day, HMV released a special 12" box set with CD, badge, booklet and photos in a limited edition of 10,000 units as catalog number BEA CD 25/8.
On 09/09/09 (Number Nine, Number Nine, Number Nine) the album was re-released as part of the Beatles "In Stereo Remasters" collection.
A new mix of the album made byGiles Martin andSam OKell was released on October, 15, 2021, in several formats.
On May, 8, 2024 the film Let It Be, this time restored by directorPeter Jackson (8), was re-released.

My copy of this one also comes with HTM etched on both sides. Other than that, all things seems to match with my copy, which was bought in the mid 80's.referencingLet It Be (LP, Album, Limited Edition, Reissue, Remastered, Stereo,T-Shirt Bundle) B0032263-01
There’s a nasty distortion that begins in the middle of Across the Universe and then persists even more throughout the LP. It’s a shame because this sounds really good. Other than that like the others mentioned. The shirt is nice. Luckily I bought this at a clearance price so I’m not too disappointed. I’ll probably seek out another pressing of this and put this one on my wall.- Edited 7 days agoI'm torn on this box set. Let it be is not my favorite Beatles album to begin with, for clarity, but this was very close to being objectively perfect. The only content missing is a fully mastered rooftop performance. That's the only criticism. Dead quiet pressings provided otherwise. Good weight with premium quality. Not much to be said that hasn't been already. Very cool to have included some Preston vocals. The 12" ep with Don't Let Me Down in particular is a fantastic listen as well.

1. Let It Be - These original pressings sound spectacular. Either 2U/2U or 2U/3U. Probably even 3U/3U tho I haven’t heard one to compare.
Early UK pressings Abbey Road, Let It Be and the Hey Jude (UK export) pressings are some of the finest sounding Beatles albums from an audiophile perspective, thanks in large part to the solid state TG12345 Mk I console installed at Abbey Road studios, used for recording and mixing. Abbey Road sounds best of all being the only Beatles album recorded with it. - Concur with other reviewers, background noise between tracks is very high. What Hi-Fi magazine list the 180g half speed 2021 release pressing as one of their best recorded vinyls but if you want to test that for yourself buy the black 180g half speed, not the picture disc. The picture disc was bought for me as a birthday gift so I will treasure it but I've now ordered the black vinyl to use as the player.
- Why do I feel ripped off by the Beatles rereleases ? I won't argue on sound here, just content. These deluxe box sets are expensive and are not aimed at a general public but at FANS. So, why so little alternate takes, unreleased & jams ? (same goes for Revolver & Abbey Rd, a bit less for Pepper & The White...). Sure the impros are not all good, but please let us judge by ourselves. Why no tracks where they bounce off each other : "I Me Mine / Domino", "Get Pack", "Enoch Powell", "White Power Promenade" or the longest "Dig It" ??? Are we too dumb to decode, to apprehend the beauty in these rough nuggets ?
