British singer (b. 1916, d. 2018) who worked in light entertainment from the late 1930s until the early 1960s. She recorded vocals with many well known dance bands including Jack Jackson, Jay Wilbur, Billy Cotton, Jack Payne, and Billy Thorburn. She also made many broadcasts on the BBC. Clare was born 29 November 1916, died 15 September 2018, aged 101.
She married the classical violistFrederick Riddle in 1946 in Kensington.
