Stranger Things and The Mighty Nein rock the fall
Though November is almost over, streaming networks still have some big things in store for subscribers this fall. Nearly every streamer has released or will release high-profile shows throughout the season. One show scaring up viewersIt: Welcome to Derry, an HBO horror series based on Stephen King’s hit novel.

Stranger Things 5, Vol. 1 (2025)
Stranger Thingswill turn the world upside down one last time. After Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) tore through Hawkins with a massive Gate in season 4, the monstrous psychic will begin a full-scale invasion of Hawkins with his army of monsters from the Upside Down.
In the show’s fifth season, we’ll see the heroes of Hawkins hunting for Vecna as the U.S. military keeps everyone locked in the town. We also see the truth behind Will’s (Noah Schnapp) link to Vecna revealed after so long, bringing the series full circle after the former was taken to the Upside Down in season 1.

The Mighty Nein (2025-present)
Created by Critical Role, the minds behindThe Legend of Vox Machina,The Mighty Nein follows six misfits in a fantasy realm who must team up to save their world after a magic artifact is stolen, bringing two neighboring kingdoms to the brink of war.
There’s the chaotic tiefling Jester (Laura Bailey), the monk Beau (Marisha Ray), the tarot card reader Molly (Taliesin), the wizard Caleb (Liam O’Brien), the half-orc warlock Fjord (Travis Willingham), and the alcoholic goblin Nott (Sam Riegel).

Alien: Earth (2025-present)
This Alien prequel series shows the spaceshipMaginotcrash-landing on Earth, carrying some of the universe’s most dangerous and terrifying species. Not only is there the iconic Xenomorph, but also a tentacled eye that can control creatures’ minds and a giant fly that sprays acid.
At the same time,Alien: Earth follows the Prodigy Corporation as they develop the “hybrids,” a new type of synthetic android housing the minds of a few terminally ill children. These hybrids become the main protagonists of the series as they try to capture the wild aliens on board the Maginotand eventually rebel against Prodigy on their island of Neverland.

A Man on the Inside (2024-present)
Michael Schur, who createdParks and Recreation,Brooklyn Nine-Nine, andThe Good Place, has returned with this hit new sitcom starring Ted Danson.A Man on the Inside follows Charles (Danson), a retired professor who is hired by a private investigator (Lilah Richcreek Estrada) to go undercover in a retirement home to find a missing necklace.
This month, the series will return for its second season, which will follow Charles as he goes undercover at a school to find a missing laptop worth millions of dollars. However, he soon finds himself infatuated with one of the suspects in this new case.

It: Welcome to Derry (2025-present)
Set in the 1960s, this prequel series follows a handful of Derry residents as they face the wrath ofPennywise the Dancing Clown (Bill Skarsgård) before the events of 2017’sIt. Adapting more material from Stephen King’s source novel, It: Welcome to Derry presents a worthy expansion of the iconic horror franchise.
In the show’s first episode, we see the Hanlon family moving to Derry, and a group of children have some unforgettably frightening encounters with Pennywise. The show also features a young Dick Hallorann, whom many fans of The Shining remember as the Overlook Hotel’s psychic cook.

Sesame Street season 56 (2025)
This November, Sesame Street packed its bags and moved from HBO Max to Netflix. There, the long-running children’s show aired its 56th season, continuing the family-friendly adventures of Elmo, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, and all their adorable friends on Sesame Street.
Right now, the first four episodes of the show’s new season are available to stream. Sal Perez, the show’s executive producer,said that these episodes are “slightly longer” than those seen in recent years, but the series will still focus on the “humor and the joy that’s on Sesame Street.”

Mayor of Kingstown (2021-present)
Co-created byYellowstone mastermind Taylor Sheridan,Mayor of Kingstown centers around the McLuskys, a family of power brokers who try to maintain order between the police, criminals, prisoners, and politicians of their town, where incarceration is king. Such a series highlights the flaws of the prison-industrial complex, exploring issues like racism, inequality, and corruption in the criminal justice system.
The series began with Mike McLusky (Jeremy Renner) taking over the family business and becoming the unofficial mayor of the town after his older brother’s death. As season 4 premiered in October, the show follows Mike as he tries to protect his younger brother, who’s now in captivity, clashing with new prison warden Nina Hobbs (Edie Falco).

Solar Opposites (2020-2025)
In October, this popular animated series debuted its final season on Hulu and dropped its first five seasons on Netflix. The show follows an alien family that escapes the destruction of their home planet and crash-lands on Earth. As they try to live amongst the humans and repair their spaceship, the Solar Opposites engage in several forms of sci-fi mayhem.
Most notably, the Solar Opposites shrink a bunch of humans and put them in the Wall, where inhabitants fight for survival and control of their new society. Eventually, the show also pivots to a human shot into space by the Solar Opposites, and he joins the intergalactic SilverCops.

Gen V (2023-present)
Class is back in session inGen V,the spinoff series toThe Boys. At Godolkin University School of Crimefighting, young superheroes (“supes”) learn everything there is to know about the job. The supes compete to potentially earn a spot in The Seven.
In season 2, the war between humans and superheroes escalates with the arrival of Dean Cipher (Hamish Linklater), the new dean at Godolkin University who prioritizes Supes over normal people. As Homelander (Anthony Starr) rules America, the crew at Godolkin learn about a secret program that threatens the world’s future.

Tulsa King (2022-present)
Sylvester Stallone continues to build his empire in Oklahoma inTulsa King season 3. After 25 years in prison, mafia capo Dwight “The General” Manfredi (Stallone) is sent to Tulsa to establish criminal operations. Dwight has built an impressive empire over the two seasons. Now, he must protect what he created against the powerful and wealthy Dumire family.
Season 3 marks the arrival of Samuel L. Jackson, whose Russell Lee Washington Jr. will be the subject of the spinoff NOLA King. Tulsa Kinghas been renewed for a fourth season.

The Paper (2025-present)
If you missThe Office, thenThe Paper is the show for you. The Peacock mockumentary series is a follow-up and spinoff toThe Office. Greg Daniels, who createdThe Office, is the co-creator and co-showrunner ofThe Paper.
The documentary crew that filmed Dunder Mifflin has found their new subjects: the staff of the Toledo Truth-Teller, a declining Midwestern newspaper. Looking to turn things around is the ambitious new editor, Ned Sampson (Domhnall Gleeson). All 10 episodes are now available to watch.

Task (2025)
Taskhas established itself as HBO’s latest big drama. Created byMare of Easttown’sBrad Ingelsby,Taskexamines crime from two perspectives: the cops and the criminals. Tom (Mark Ruffalo), a veteran FBI agent, leads a task force to investigate a series of violent robberies in the Philadelphia area.
Behind the crimes is Robbie (Tom Pelphrey), an unassuming family man with a troubled past. Task premiered on September 7, with the season wrapping up after seven episodes on October 19.

Only Murders in the Building (2021-present)
The podcasting trio with an affinity for true crime has returned for a fifth season ofOnly Murders in the Building. Wherever Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez) go, death follows. This time, it comes for their beloved doorman (Teddy Coluca).
Refusing to believe it’s an accident, the trio begins their investigation, which leads them to three of the richest people in the world (Renée Zellweger, Logan Lerman, and Christoph Waltz). The fifth season ofOnly Murders in the Buildingpremiered with three episodes on September 9, with the finale premiering on October 28.

Wednesday (2022-present)
After a three-year break, Jenna Ortega returns to the halls of Nevermore Academy inWednesdayseason 2. Wednesday Addams (Ortega) is back in school, where, once again, she’s called upon to solve another murder mystery.
It’s a family affair at Nevermore, as Wednesday’s brother, Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez), is now a student. Plus, Wednesday’s parents, Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Gomez Addams (Luis Guzmán), find themselves on campus even more this season. All eight episodes of season 2 are now on Netflix.

Peacemaker (2022-present)
John Cena returns as the foul-mouthed antihero inPeacemakerseason 2. Chris Smith (Cena) now has a new enemy to worry about in the new director of ARGUS, Rick Flag, Sr. (Frank Grillo), the father of Rick Flag Jr., the man Peacemaker killed inThe Suicide Squad.
Meanwhile, Chris follows a door into an alternate universe, one where his life is better and his family is alive. Anything can happen in the multiverse, so Chris must be prepared. Every episode of this new season is now available on streaming.

HBO has officially announced several key roles for the Harry Potter TV series.
Harry Potter will star John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid. The quartet will all serve as series regulars.
A month after releasing Monster: The Ed Gein Story on Netflix, Ryan Murphy returned this November with a new streaming series for Hulu, All's Fair. This legal drama follows a divorce lawyer who runs an all-female law firm, with Kim Kardashian leading a cast that includes Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash-Betts, Teyana Taylor, Matthew Noszka, Sarah Paulson, and Glenn Close.
Chris Hemsworth also embarks on an emotional journey with his father to help him cope with his Alzheimer's diagnosis in the new documentary, Chris Hemsworth: A Road Trip to Remember. Other notable titles coming to Hulu include A Knight's Tale, Casino, The Princess Bride, A Star Is Born, and The First Omen.
