The Sims 4 fans campaign for game's dark skin tones to be fixed
The game's skin tones have been criticised as "ashy" and "blotchy".
The Sims 4 community has been calling out and campaigning for EA to fix the dark skin tones in the game.
Since the title's launch in 2014, there has been dissatisfaction over the limited selection of skin tones available for darker Sims. In February 2018, ten skin tones were added but have been criticised as "ashy", "grey", and "blotchy" by fans.

Simmers such asXmiramira ended up creating custom content to address the ongoing issue. The latest version of her Melanin Pack custom content – which includes numerous new skin tones to choose from – can befound here (you can also watchthis 2016 video from Xmiramira as she talks about her frustrations with the skin tones).
Of course, that solution doesn't help people who don't or can't use custom content.
The push for a base game fix is gaining huge momentum, with tweets bringing attention to the issue regularly going viral within the community.
Several high-profile YouTubers (includinglilsimsie, grimcookies, andPlumbella) have also been outspoken, showing public support on their channels.
A recent collaboration betweenThe Sims 4 and cosmetics brand MAC highlighted the problem further, as players have been speaking out about how poor the new make-up looks on dark skin tones in the game.

Most recent posts on@TheSims Twitter account are flooded with fans of the game urging for the skin tones to be fixed, whilea Change.org petition – asking for more swatches and a colour wheel – has racked up more than 80,000 signatures at the time of writing.
