The Boys andStar Trek star Karl Urban has revealed that he's actually ticked off another major franchise on his acting CV after making a brief appearance inStar Wars – but you almost certainly won't have recognised him.

While speaking toDigital Spy aboutThe Boys season 2, Karl revealed that he played a stormtrooper in the final instalment of the Skywalker saga,The Rise of Skywalker, and he even had a line of dialogue that you can hear in the finished product.

Confirming that the Karl Urban listed in the 'additional voices' section of the end credits of the 2019 film is indeed him, the actor explained how his cameo came about.

"Here's the process," he said. "I had the good fortune to go and visit JJ Abrams [the film's director] while he was shootingThe Rise of Skywalker. While I was there, he put me in a stormtrooper uniform and we had a really fun day on set.

"It's been one of my life-long goals to be a stormtrooper, so I can tick that off now."

He also pinpointed the moment in which he is seen (or rather, his stormtrooper costume is) and heard, which is during a scene set on Kylo Ren's (Adam Driver) spaceship.

"What is in the cut is my voice saying 'Knights of Ren' as Kylo Ren walks down a hallway past two stormtroopers. I am one of those stormtroopers," he said.

The actor will soon be seen in the eagerly-anticipated second season of comic book adaptationThe Boys, in which he plays vengeance-seeking Billy Butcher.

The first series of the show – which is set in a world where super-powered people are owned and marketed by a powerful and shady corporation, with their sometimes horrific misdeeds covered up –ended with Billy separated from his friends, who are now in hiding.

It has been confirmed that he won't be rejoining the gang immediately when season 2 kicks off, as he's a little preoccupied with dealing with his powerful enemy Homelander (Antony Starr).

Butwe will be treated to a short film calledButcher, which will fill us in on what the sweary vigilante has been up to between seasons.

The Boys season 2 will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on September 4.The Boys season one is now available onAmazon Prime Video.
