Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and we’ve always been transparent about that.
The church publishes the Monitor because it sees good journalism as vital to progress in the world. Since 1908, we’ve aimed “to injure no man, but to bless all mankind,” as our founder, Mary Baker Eddy, put it.
Here, you’ll find award-winning journalism not driven by commercial influences – a news organization that takes seriously its mission to uplift the world by seeking solutions and finding reasons for credible hope.

Your Monitor Daily should arrive in your inbox around 6:15 a.m. Eastern time, Monday through Saturday. Some email programs try to filter out email that they suspect may be spam. To make sure you receive the email, we advise going to our webpage that describes how to add the Monitor Daily to your "allow list" so that it can get through these spam filters. Additionally, please see the next FAQ if you're a Gmail user. If you’re still having trouble, contact us here.
Gmail is often configured with a tabbed inbox, and some subscribers have found that our messages go into the "Promotions" tab. If you have a tabbed inbox, please check that tab to see whether our messages are being directed there. You can also check spam. You can drag and drop email from a tab into the "Primary" or "Focused" inbox and it may continue to follow that pattern going forward.
Yes, simply click “unsubscribe” at the bottom of the Daily (or any Monitor email that you no longer wish to receive). This will end your email delivery but won’t affect your print magazine delivery if you are a Weekly subscriber. You can also still access CSMonitor.com at any time.
If you discover an error or have a comment about our reporting, go to this form. Information you provide will be seen by our editors.
Yes, all current subscribers to the Weekly print magazine have unlimited, ad-free access to CSMonitor.com. Once you see the cover, tap or click on any open area of the Monitor Weekly digital edition to open the reader toolbar and its available features. Then click on the downward-pointing arrow icon at the top right of the page. This will open the PDF copy of the digital edition in a new browser tap. Next, tap on the Share button, which is represented by a square and up arrow at the top of the screen, and select Save to Files. This will download the PDF file to the Files app on your iPad. If you don't already have the Files app on your iPad, you can download it from the App Store for free, and then download the PDF file.

Since the Monitor is sent by regular mail, we are unable to guarantee a specific delivery date each week. Delays may sometimes occur, but you should receive your issue during the week of the date of issue. Issues are not considered late until the Monday following the date of issue. At that time, please email us at csmonitorcustserv@cdsfulfillment.com or call 800-456-2220. We'll be happy to issue a replacement or extend your subscription for the missed issue.
The Monitor Weekly has four combined issues each year. The periodic combining of issues is a standard practice in the publishing industry and is intended to accommodate staff vacations and acknowledge shifts in readership trends around certain high-vacation weeks throughout the year. As a bonus for our readers, we often include an additional or expanded section in these double-dated issues.
