We are an adult miniature outdoor railroad organization, comprised of people interested in all aspects of railroading, but especially in building and operating large scale model steam locomotives (including electric and internal combustion powered equipment). We have two different gauges of track; 7 ½" and 4 ¾" track laid at ground level.

We are a Live Steam Railroad organization and NOT an amusement park. Children must be supervised at all times. For the safety of everyone, NO pets are allowed.

The Colorado Live Steamers is an organization of people interested in building and operating large scale model railroad equipment. We are located on approximately 120 acres in Byers, CO, about 40 miles east of Denver.
The first 7 ½" gauge loop was completed in June of 1998. To date we have laid approximately 11,000 feet of track with two tunnels and one 102 ft wooden bridge and a second steel truss bridge. The organization's overall goal is a 2.5 mile, 7 ½" gauge point-to-point mainline railroad.
Our regularly scheduled work/run days are the 2nd Saturday of the month, and our regularly scheduled run/work days are the 3rd Saturday of the month, both weather permitting - year round.Our Annual Run Day is the 3rd Saturday of September, all railroad fans are invited.
