Overview

Sindhu River, also called as Indus, is the river from which the name of India is originated. It is the oldest river where the civilization of Harappa and Mohenjo – Daro were found. Pushkar are the celebrations held at rivers for one a twelve years of period

In 2021, Sindhu pushkarams begins on 21 November, Sunday and ends on 2 December. Sindhu River Pushkaralu begins with Brihaspati Sankramana in Kumbha Rashi ( Guru Transit in Aquaris).

It is believed that Pushkarudu, also known as Pushkar God who is powerful to make any river holy will

travel with Jupiter, as Jupiter travels from one Zodiac sign to another Zodiac sign.

Pushkaram is a festival of rivers pertains to 12 important rivers in India which occurs once in 12 years for each river. The river for each year festival is based on the presence of Jupiter on which Zodiac sign by that time.

It is the largest of the Sapta Sindhu ( Seven sacred rivers) mentioned in the Rig Veda. It flows through some areas in Jammu and Kashmir in India. The Indus River, Sindhu River, is one of the main rivers of the Indo Gangetic Plain in the Indian subcontinent. It flows through China ( western Tibet), India , and Pakistan. Originating in the Tibetan Plateau in the vicinity of Lake Manasarovar, the river runs a course through the Ladakh region of India towards Gilgit- Baltistan, and then flows in a southerly direction along the entire length of Pakistan to merge into the Arabian Sea near the port city of Karachi in Sindh.
