Alpha Halogenation of Enols and Enolates Practice Problems

In theprevious post, we talked about the alpha halogenation of aldehydes and ketones and its application in organic synthesis. So, if you already went over this material, go ahead and work on these practice problems.

The second part involves material from previous chapters such as thecarboxylic acid derivatives and some essentialreactions of alkenes.

Practice

1.

Predict the product in each of the following reactions involving analpha halogenation of anenolorenolate. Some examples include reactions from previous chapters.
