John Fedosoff

John Fedosoff jumped directly from Mimico High School in Toronto to the Toronto Argonauts in 1952, an accomplishment not many have achieved.  Fedosoff played three years with the Argos (1952-54), though statistics are only available for 1954.  In that season Fedosoff led the East in punt return yardage with 605 yards and an 8.3 yard average return.  Fedosoff went to Hamilton in 1955, and played three seasons for the Tiger-Cats.  Fedosoff's best season in Hamilton was in 1955 when he had 241 yards rushing and four rushing touchdowns.  Fedosoff also led the East in average punt returns at 11.3 yards per return and was second in punt return yards at 501.  Keep in mind those numbers were achieved without any blocking on punt returns.  After his sting in Hamilton, Fedosoff played one final season in 1958, splitting it between Montreal and Saskatchewan.  Besides playing running back and r eturning kicks, Fedosoff also played defensive back, recording six career interceptions with three coming in his first season in Hamilton in 1955.  For his efforts, Fedosoff was an East All-Star at defensive back in 1955 (there were no CFL All-Stars until 1962).
