Basic features

The service enables seamless interconnection of IP telephony networks among organizations connected to the CESNET e-infrastructure, as well as with partner networks both in the Czech Republic and internationally. It facilitates voice and video calls between telephone exchanges or IP telephony networks without incurring connection fees.

• The service uses SIP and H.323 signaling protocols.
• PBXs connect via their own voice gateway (typically Cisco) using ISDN PRI (E1) or directly over IP (SIP).
• A high-quality network connection is essential, ideally with low delay and dispersion. The recommended capacity is approximately 80 kbps per call (using G.711 or G.722 codec).
• Collaboration with technical contacts is required to address issues related to user equipment (gateway access).

The service is provided on a "best effort" basis.
