Jets' Connor Hellebuyck: Facing Mammoth
RotowireHellebuyck will patrol the home crease against Utah on Sunday, per Ken Wiebe of The Winnipeg Free Press.
Hellebuyck stopped 25 of 26 shots in a 3-0 loss to Seattle on Thursday, with the final two goals being empty-netters. He has posted a 4-2-0 record this season while allowing only 12 goals on 176 shots. Utah is riding a six-game winning streak, including a 6-2 victory over Minnesota on Saturday.
... See More... See LessJets' Kieron Walton: Five-point game for Wolves
RotowireWalton scored twice and added three assists in OHL Sudbury's 8-2 win over Peterborough on Sunday.
Walton should be among the candidates for weekly honors in the OHL this week after a three-goal, eight-point performance over two games. The 19-year-old is up to seven goals and eight assists across eight contests for the Wolves this season. Sudbury is still last in the OHL, but its NHL-affiliated prospects have been fantastic lately.
... See More... See LessJets' Kevin He: Hat trick in win for Niagara
RotowireHe scored three goals on five shots in OHL Niagara's 5-1 win over Brampton on Sunday.
He is enjoying a strong start to his fourth junior campaign, earning eight goals and 10 assists across 12 contests. The 19-year-old winger has recorded at least three points in four of his games this season. The 2024 fourth-round pick of theJets should continue to pile up points in the OHL this season before likely making the jump to AHL Manitoba for 2026-27, as he has already signed his entry-level contract.
... See More... See LessJets' Walker Duehr: Scores twice Saturday
RotowireDuehr scored two goals on three shots in AHL Manitoba's 4-3 overtime loss to Chicago on Saturday.
Duehr has three goals over six games with the Moose. The 27-year-old winger had a total of 28 points in 36 regular-season AHL outings, as well as three points in 24 NHL contests last year. He's a passable fourth-liner when he gets a call-up, but that will be tough to see happening in 2025-26 while he's in an organization with as much depth as theJets have.
... See More... See LessJets' Mark Scheifele: Two power-play helpers in win
RotowireScheifele recorded two power-play assists and four shots on goal in Friday's 5-3 win over the Flames.
Scheifele's season-opening point streak ended in Thursday's 3-0 loss to the Kraken. The center bounced right back with his fourth multi-point effort of the year in Friday's win, helping out on second-period tallies by Gabriel Vilardi and Alex Iafallo. On the year, Scheifele has seven goals, five helpers, four power-play points, 23 shots on net and a plus-3 rating over eight appearances. He's off to a great start as he aims for the fourth 80-point campaign of his career after last year's career-best 87 points in 82 regular-season outings.
... See More... See LessJets' Josh Morrissey: Distributes three helpers
RotowireMorrissey notched three assists, including one on the power play, and added two shots on net, two hits, three blocked shots and a plus-3 rating in Friday's 5-3 win over the Flames.
Morrissey had his first multi-point effort of the season, and it's pretty safe to assume it won't be his last. The 30-year-old has had a rough start to 2025-26, but Friday's effort put him at five assists through eight contests. He's been just fine on the defensive side, racking up 17 blocks, six hits and a plus-7 rating in his usual spot on theJets' top pairing.
... See More... See LessJets' Vladislav Namestnikov: Deposits empty-netter
RotowireNamestnikov scored an empty-net goal on three shots in Friday's 5-3 win over the Flames.
Namestnikov cut off the Flames' comeback effort with a goal at 19:52 of the third period. The 32-year-old has filled a middle-six role this season, which has seen him start a little slow on offense. He has three goals, one helper, nine shots on net, nine hits, five blocked shots and a plus-1 rating through eight appearances. Namestnikov is on pace to finish between 35 and 40 points, which is where he's landed in each of the last two regular seasons as one of Winnipeg's steadier depth scorers.
... See More... See LessJets' Jonathan Toews: Scores go-ahead goal
RotowireToews scored a goal in Friday's 5-3 win over the Flames.
Toews has scored both of his goals this season against the Flames. His tally Friday put theJets ahead 2-1 in the second period. The 37-year-old has played pretty well for someone who was out of the league for two full years, earning five points (three on the power play), eight shots on net, seven blocked shots, eight PIM and a minus-4 rating through eight appearances. There are still some gaps in his play, which can be expected given his age and time away, but he's a decent source of offense.
... See More... See LessJets' Alex Iafallo: Tallies on power play in win
RotowireIafallo scored a power-play goal on two shots in Friday's 5-3 win over the Flames.
Iafallo has four points through eight games this season, and he's earned all of them on the power play. The 31-year-old has emerged as a specialist with the man advantage while seeing middle-six minutes at even strength. He's added 17 shots on net, nine hits, seven blocked shots and a minus-1 rating on the year. Iafallo's spot on the top power-play unit is likely to be safe until Cole Perfetti (ankle) is ready for his season debut, which won't be until mid-November at the earliest.
... See More... See LessJets' Kyle Connor: Sparks productive second period
RotowireConnor scored a goal on six shots in Friday's 5-3 win over the Flames.
Connor hadn't scored since his hat trick Opening Night versus the Stars. The 28-year-old tied the game at 1-1 early in the second period. While he hasn't found the twine consistently, Connor's playmaking has more than made up for the lack of goals. He's at four tallies, six helpers, 30 shots on net and a plus-4 rating through eight appearances. At his best, he's got 40-goal potential and should also continue to play above a point-per-game pace on theJets' top line.
... See More... See LessJets' Gabriel Vilardi: Breaks through with two points
RotowireVilardi scored a goal on two shots and added an assist in Friday's 5-3 win over the Flames.
Both of Vilardi's points came on the power play in the second period. The 26-year-old forward has retained his spots on the top line and first power-play unit this season, but he's gotten off to an uneven start. He's at one goal, five assists, 16 shots on net and an even plus-minus rating through eight appearances. Getting the first goal should help, and Vilardi is in a position to succeed, so his fantasy managers should stay patient as he looks to rediscover his 27-goal, 61-point form from 71 regular-season games in 2024-25.
... See More... See LessJets' Eric Comrie: Comes away with win
RotowireComrie stopped 30 of 33 shots in Friday's 5-3 win over the Flames.
Comrie got the job done in the second half of a back-to-back despite allowing a goal in each period. The 30-year-old netminder has allowed five goals on 68 shots over his first two starts this season, winning both of them. He won't play much as backup to reigning MVP and Vezina winner Connor Hellebuyck, but theJets' strong structure makes Comrie a quality backup for streaming in fantasy when he gets the nod. Look for Hellebuyck to face the high-octane Mammoth on Sunday.
... See More... See LessJets' Kieron Walton: Keeps rolling for Sudbury
RotowireWalton scored a goal and added two assists in OHL Sudbury's 5-3 win over Barrie on Friday.
This was Walton's first three-point effort of the year, as well as his fourth multi-point game in his last five outings. He's at five goals and five assists through seven appearances after starting his OHL campaign with a pair of scoreless outings. TheJets prospect has taken massive strides in the last year-plus after being a sixth-round pick in 2024.
... See More... See LessJets' Eric Comrie: Expected to start Friday
RotowireComrie is expected to start at home against the Flames on Friday, Ken Wiebe of The Winnipeg Free Press reports.
TheJets are playing the second half of a back-to-back set Friday, and Comrie is slated to make his second start of the year after Connor Hellebuyck started against Seattle on Thursday. Comrie was effective in his season debut against the Islanders on Oct. 13, turning aside 33 of 35 shots (.943 save percentage) in a 5-2 victory.
... See More... See LessJets' Connor Hellebuyck: Beaten once in loss Thursday
RotowireHellebuyck stopped 25 of 26 shots in Thursday's 3-0 loss to Seattle. The other two goals were empty-netters late in the third period.
Hellebuyck allowed five goals in the season-opening loss to the Stars, but he's been outstanding since then. He's allowed no more than one goal in each of his past three games, and he's surrendered no more than two markers in each of his last five starts. Through that prolific five-game stretch, the star netminder has gone 4-1-0 with a 1.40 GAA and a pristine .950 save percentage. TheJets are playing on the second leg of a back-to-back Friday, so Hellebuyck is expected to get some much-needed rest against the Flames. If that's the case, his next chance to suit up would come against Utah on Sunday.
... See More... See LessJets' Morgan Barron: Slated to play Thursday
RotowireBarron (undisclosed) is expected to play at home versus Seattle on Thursday.
Barron sat out practice Wednesday. The 26-year-old center has three goals and two assists in six games this season. He is projected to play on the fourth line, between Tanner Pearson and Cole Koepke.
