Smith (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the 49ers.

TheTexans activated Smith from injured reserve Saturday after the rookie third-rounder ended the week with back-to-back full practices. He was still listed as questionable for Week 8, but he's been officially cleared to make his return after going through pregame warmups. Prior to his injury, Smith saw most of his work on special teams while also contributing to the secondary in a rotational role and logged four tackles (two solo) across two regular-season games.

Autry (knee) is active for Sunday's game against San Francisco.

Despite not practicing Friday, Autry has been cleared to play in Week 8 after going through pregame warmups without issue. He made his 2025 regular-season debut in Week 7 against the Seahawks, when he logged two solo tackles, including 1.0 sacks, while playing 10 snaps on defense.

Smith was designated to return to practice Wednesday, and he earned the questionable tag for Sunday's game against the 49ers after putting together an LP-FP-FP practice log. His activation off IR indicates that he's on track to play in Week 8, but his official status may not be known until the Texans announce their list of inactive players approximately 90 minutes before the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. The rookie third-rounder posted four tackles (two solo) through the first two games of the regular season prior to his placement on IR due to a hamstring injury.

TheTexans on Saturday elevatedWayne to the active roster for Week 8 against San Francisco.

Wayne will join Houston's active roster, which will be without both Nico Collins (concussion) and Christian Kirk (hamstring), both of whom were ruled out. Wayne is expected to serve as the fifth wideout on the depth chart behind Xavier Hutchinson, Jayden Higgins, Jaylin Noel and Braxton Berrios.

Huzzie (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against San Francisco.

Huzzie has been on the reserve/non-football injury list all season. He was able to begin practicing last week and logged a trio of full practices this week, but he'll wait at least another week before being active on game day for the first time as a pro. Huzzie was signed by theTexans as an undrafted free agent in May.

Autry (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against the 49ers.

Autry logged a DNP on Friday after limited practices Wednesday and Thursday, putting his Week 8 status in question. Autry made his season debut last week against the Seahawks, logging just 10 defensive snaps.

Barnett (ankle) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the 49ers.

Following limited practices Wednesday and Thursday, Barnett logged a full practice Friday. Across six games this season, Barnett has recorded three tackles (one solo) on 29 percent of the defensive snaps.

Schultz (back/shoulder) doesn't carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the 49ers after practicing fully Friday.

With wideouts Nico Collins (concussion) and Christian Kirk (hamstring) both ruled out for the contest, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 suggests that theTexans figure to lean heavily on Schultz on Sunday, along with rookie wide receivers Jaylin Noel and Jayden Higgins, in addition to Xavier Hutchinson. While recording a 75 percent snap share in this past Monday's 27-19 loss to the Seahawks, Schultz racked up nine catches on 10 targets for a team-high 98 yards.

Kirk (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against San Francisco.

With Nico Collins (concussion) and Kirk both ruled out, theTexans are left with Xavier Hutchinson, Jayden Higgins, Jaylin Noel and Braxton Berrios as the favorites for playing time at wide receiver. Noel made a splash last week with four catches for 77 yards on seven targets in a 27-19 loss at Seattle, but that doesn't necessarily mean he'll be the main beneficiary in terms of playing time this week. Kirk, meanwhile, has now missed Weeks 1, 2, 7 and 8 with hamstring injuries.

Collins (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the 49ers.

Meanwhile, Christian Kirk (hamstring) has also been deemed out for the contest. Per Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2, in the absence of Collins and Kirk, look for theTexans to lean heavily on TE Dalton Schultz, along with rookie wide receivers Jaylin Noel and Jayden Higgins as well as Xavier Hutchinson. Wilson adds that both of Houston's injured WRs -- who didn't practice this week -- have a chance to return to action Nov. 2 against the Broncos.
