The 2023 third-round pick from Alabama was all over the field during Cincinnati's regular-season debut, leading the team in total tackles while also picking off Joe Flacco in the third quarter. Battle had a disappointing sophomore campaign in 2024 but appears poised for a third-year breakout, playing 100 percent of theBengals' defensive snaps in Week 1. He's expected to start alongside Geno Stone as part of Cincinnati's top safety duo in Week 2 against the Vikings.

Battle recorded 58 total tackles and three passes defended, including one interception, across 17 games in 2024.

The Alabama product experienced a dip in production during his second season in the NFL, seeing declines in tackles (71 to 58), passes defended (five to three) and defensive snaps played (507 to 442) compared to his rookie year. However, Battle came on late in the season and helped theBengals' defensive resurgence, tallying 33 total tackles and one interception while starting over Vonn Bell in the team's final six games. With Bell set to hit unrestricted free agency this offseason, Battle will aim to build on his strong finish to 2024 and is likely to start alongside Geno Stone in the Bengals' secondary in 2025.

Battle rebounded from a head-scratching fumble through the back of the end zone in Week 15 with his impressive performance in Week 16. The second-year safety from Alabama led Cincinnati's defense in total tackles and picked off Dorian Thompson-Robinson in the fourth quarter of Sunday's blowout win. TheBengals' top safety duo of Battle and Geno Stone both nabbed interceptions in Week 16 and will look to stay hot in the Week 17 matchup against the Broncos.

Battle recorded 10 tackles (five solo) and a fumble recovery during Sunday's 37-27 win at Tennessee.

Late in the third quarter, Battle scooped up a Tony Pollard fumble in the backfield at Cincinnati's 39-yard line. Sixty yards later, there was nothing between Battle and the first touchdown of his career, but he inexplicably lost his handle on the ball just before crossing the goal line and lost a fumble of his own to give possession back to the Titans. He'll be hoping to stay off the blooper reel in Week 16 versus the Browns.
