Chiefs' Bryan Cook: Another solid season in 2025
RotowireCook recorded 85 tackles (50 solo) and six passes defensed in 17 games with Kansas City in 2025.
After emerging as a starter last season, Cook remained one of theChiefs' top producers in their defensive backfield in 2025, notching new career highs in total tackles and in passes defensed. It might have been a bit disappointing that he could not come away with any interceptions, but he almost certainly did enough in the final year of his rookie deal to earn a second NFL contract and a big raise, whether that be in Kansas City or elsewhere. He is currently on track to become an unrestricted free agent in the offseason.

RotowireCook tallied eight tackles (four solo) and one pass defense during theChiefs' 20-13 loss to the Broncos on Thursday.
Cook played every single defensive snap and finished tied for the fourth-most tackles on the Chiefs during Thursday's loss. The fourth-year safety is up to 79 combined tackles through 16 regular-season games, surpassing his previous career high of 78 tackles (in 17 regular-season games) in 2024. Cook will look to add to his total in the Chiefs' regular-season finale against the Raiders in Week 18.

RotowireCook (ankle) was a full participant at Wednesday's practice.
Cook suffered an ankle injury during last week's loss to the Cowboys and only played 12 defensive snaps as a result. However, it appears this injury won't be an issue moving forward. Cook has been a steady member of theChiefs' secondary with 50 tackles (33 solo) and four pass breakups through 12 games.

RotowireCook, who sustained an ankle injury in Thursday's 31-28 loss to the Cowboys, avoided a high-ankle sprain, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Despite the encouraging injury update, theChiefs are likely to proceed cautiously with Cook given his significant ankle injury in 2023, which sidelined him for the final nine games of the season. He's appeared in all 12 of Kansas City's contests this year, recording 50 total tackles and four passes defensed. If inactive for the Week 14 matchup against the Texans, Jaden Hicks will likely to step in and start at free safety.

Cook played every single defensive snap for a second straight game, and he co-led the Chiefs in tackles Sunday with Nick Bolton. Cook has logged at least five stops in each of his last three games, and for the regular season he is up to 49 tackles (33 solo) and four pass defenses in 11 games.

CBS Sports Jeff KerrChiefs' Bryan Cook: Three tackles in opener
RotowireCook recorded three tackles in Friday's 27-21 loss to the Chargers.
Cook played a decreased role late in the 2024 season, raising some questions about his usage to begin 2025. While it wasn't an excellent statistical performance, Cook was clearly Kansas City's primary free safety and played all 65 defensive snaps. Cook should have the chance to be more productive moving forward.
