20h agoTheGiants signedHentges (shoulder/knee) to a one-year, $1.4 million contract Thursday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
Non-tendered by the Guardians last week, Hentges missed the entire 2025 season while recovering from left shoulder surgery and also underwent arthroscopic right knee surgery in September. The expectation is that he will be ready for spring training. Hentges could be a weapon for the Giants if he can regain his pre-surgery form, as he held a 2.93 ERA and 155:42 K:BB over 138 regular-season innings from 2022-to-2024 after being moved to a relief role.

Tigers' Tanner Rainey: Returns to Detroit on minors pact
21h agoTheTigers re-signedRainey to a minor-league contract Wednesday.
Rainey was non-tendered by the Tigers last week, but he's now back in the organization on a minor-league pact. The right-handed reliever hasn't been the same since Tommy John surgery, posting a 5.79 ERA and 55:38 K:BB over 60.2 innings over the last two seasons at the big-league level.
- Tyler Zuber MIA RP

- Gustavo Campero LAA C
Angels' Gustavo Campero: Back with Halos on minors deal
21h agoTheAngels re-signedCampero to a minor-league contract Wednesday.
The Halos non-tendered Campero earlier this month but have now brought him back on a minor-league pact. Campero posted a .618 OPS over 66 plate appearances in the majors in 2025 and offers the ability to handle all three outfield spots. He'll likely begin next season at Triple-A Salt Lake.
- Vinny Capra CHW SS
Red Sox's Vinny Capra: Signs MiLB deal with Red Sox
21h agoTheRed Sox signedCapra to a minor-league contract Wednesday.
Capra managed just a .125/.157/.177 batting line across 47 contests for the Brewers and White Sox in 2025. The 29-year-old offers plenty of defensive versatility and will give Boston some useful depth at Triple-A Worcester.
- Yohel Pozo STL C
Cardinals' Yohel Pozo: Re-signs with St. Louis
4d agoTheCardinals re-signedPozo to a one-year contract Monday.
Pozo was non-tendered by St. Louis last week but is now back in the organization just a few days later on a split contract. The Cardinals already have Ivan Herrera, Jimmy Crooks and Pedro Pages competing for reps at catcher on the major-league roster, but Pozo will also factor into the mix. He slashed .231/.262/.375 with five home runs in 67 games for the Cardinals in 2025.
- Andrew Knizner SF C
Andrew Knizner: Becomes free agent
7d agoKnizner was non-tendered by the Giants on Friday.
Knizner was designated for assignment Friday and was set to be a free agent if he went unclaimed on waivers. This move was primarily procedural as a result.
- Yohel Pozo STL C
Yohel Pozo: Non-tendered by St. Louis
7d agoThe Cardinals non-tenderedPozo on Friday.
Pozo signed a minor-league contract with the Cardinals in January and was a permanent member of the big club's roster in early April after being called up from Triple-A Memphis. He spent most of the 2025 season as the backup catcher behind Ivan Herrera (elbow) and Pedro Pages, and across 67 regular-season games, Pozo posted a .637 OPS with 16 runs scored, five home runs and 19 RBI in 168 plate appearances. Now that he's a free agent, Pozo should receive interest from teams looking to add depth at catcher.
- Jonah Heim TEX C
Jonah Heim: Let go by Rangers
7d agoHeim was non-tendered by the Rangers on Friday.
Heim's tenure with the Rangers has seemingly come to an end after spending the last five seasons with the organization. He spent most of the 2025 regular season as the starting catcher, though he did split time behind home plate with Kyle Higashioka at times. Heim ended the season with a .213/.271/.332 slash line with three steals, 38 runs scored, 11 home runs and 43 RBI over 433 plate appearances. The 30-year-old pro will look to catch on with a team in need of depth at catcher by the start of spring training.
- Sebastian Rivero LAA C
Sebastian Rivero: Cut loose by Halos
7d agoRivero was non-tendered by the Angels on Friday.
Rivero signed a minor-league deal with the Angels last December after spending the 2024 season as a member of Atlanta's organization. He spent most of the 2025 campaign with Triple-A Salt Lake, but he ended the season on the big club's roster after his contract was selected by the Angels in early September, going 6-for-33 with one steal, four runs and two RBI in the majors. Rivero will look to join a team in need of depth at catcher prior to the start of spring training.
- Kody Clemens MIN 1B
Twins' Kody Clemens: Set up as primary first baseman
2d agoTwins president of baseball operations Derek Falvey has indicated thatClemens is in line to be the team's primary first baseman next season, Aaron Gleeman and Dan Hayes of The Athletic report.
Clemens was traded to the Twins in late April and went on to slash .216/.284/.442 with 19 home runs over 112 contests. He split most of his reps between first base (47 starts) and second base (34 starts) during his time in Minnesota but also saw some action in the outfield (12 starts). Clemens is just a .206/.263/.403 career hitter and will turn 30 in May, but he took significant strides in his batted-ball metrics in 2025, sporting a 48.3 percent hard-hit rate and 12 percent barrel rate. Fellow left-handed hitter Edouard Julien is likely Clemens' primary competition for the first base job against righties, and neither player has minor-league options remaining.
- Michael Toglia COL 1B
Michael Toglia: Officially parts ways with Rockies
7d agoThe Rockies non-tenderedToglia on Friday.
After finishing the 2024 season with a .767 OPS, Toglia's offensive production dropped dramatically in 2025, as he finished the year slashing .190/.258/.353 across 337 plate appearances. Most of the 27-year-old's struggles came on the road, as he posted just a .481 OPS across 178 plate appearances away from Coors Field, which doesn't exactly help his chances of finding regular big-league work with any of the other 29 clubs.
- Tim Elko CHW 1B
Tim Elko: Parts ways with White Sox
7d agoThe White Sox did not tenderElko (knee) a contract for 2026 on Friday, making him a free agent.
Elko made his MLB debut in 2025 and had a .134/.194/.328 slash line in 72 plate appearances. He underwent surgery in October to repair a torn ACL in his right knee, so he'll be unavailable to begin the 2026 campaign.
- Nate Lowe BOS 1B
Nathaniel Lowe: Becomes free agent
7d agoThe Red Sox non-tenderedLowe on Friday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
Lowe's production dropped considerably in 2025, as he finished the regular season with a .689 OPS across 609 plate appearances between Boston and Washington after never finishing with less than a .760 OPS in his previous six seasons (min. 500 PA). The 30-year-old should still receive a fair bit of interest in the open market from teams hoping for a bounce-back year in 2026, though he may have to take on a platoon role after slashing just .168/.240/.265 against left-handers in this past regular season.
- Jake Bauers MIL 1B
Brewers' Jake Bauers: Settles with Brewers
7d agoTheBrewers andBauers avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year contract Friday.
Per Jon Heyman of the New York Post, the deal is for $2.7 million. Bauers re-signed with the Brewers on a minor-league deal last offseason before slashing .235/.353/.399 with seven home runs over 85 regular-season contests. The left-handed-hitting Bauers should see semi-regular reps between first base, left field and designated hitter against right-handed pitching in 2026.
- Michael Toglia COL 1B
Rockies' Michael Toglia: DFA'd by Colorado
10d agoTheRockies designatedToglia for assignment Tuesday, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
Toglia looked like he was set to be Colorado's first baseman of the future heading into last season, when he opened as the team's primary first baseman. However, the 2019 first-round draft pick struggled mightily during his time in the majors, posting a .190/.258/.353 slash line with a 39.2 percent strikeout rate. While Toglia flashed big power with 25 homers across 457 plate appearances in 2024 and went deep 11 times across 42 games with Triple-A Albuquerque last season, his poor contact against major-league pitching ultimately led to his removal from the Rockies' 40-man roster.
- Rodolfo Castro PHI 2B
Blue Jays' Rodolfo Castro: Grabs NRI from Toronto
3d agoTheBlue Jays signedCastro to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training, Ari Alexander of WHDH 7News in Boston reports.
Castro spent the 2025 campaign at Triple-A Lehigh Valley in the Phillies organization, slashing .235/.324/.421with 19 homers and 18 steals over 133 contests. The 26-year-old utility infielder last appeared in the majors in 2023 and is likely to begin next season at Triple-A Buffalo.
- Marcus Semien TEX 2B
Mets' Marcus Semien: Headed to New York
5d agoThe Rangers are tradingSemien to theMets in exchange for outfielder Brandon Nimmo, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Semien's numbers have been trending down in recent years, and his .669 OPS last season was the lowest mark of his career. However, the 35-year-old still provided a mix of moderate power and speed with 15 homers and 11 stolen bases, and he offers elite defense at second base, as he's coming off winning his second Gold Glove Award. Semien ended the campaign on the 60-day injured list due to a foot injury, but he's expected to have a normal offseason and to be ready for spring training. Nimmo has a full no-trade clause in his contract, but per Will Sammon of The Athletic, the outfielder has already approved the deal.
- Ramon Urias HOU 2B
Ramon Urias: Becomes free agent
7d agoThe Astros non-tenderedUrias on Friday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
The decision to non-tender Urias became expected after the Astros pushed him off the 40-man roster Tuesday. The 31-year-old infielder finished the 2025 campaign slashing .241/.292/.384 through 391 plate appearances between the Orioles and Astros, and his defense should be enough to net him another big-league contract in the offseason.
- Jonathan India KC 2B
Royals' Jonathan India: Settles with Royals at $8 million
7d agoTheRoyals andIndia avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $8 million contract, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.
India was seen as a non-tender candidate after he slashed a disappointing .233/.323/.346 over 136 games in his first year in Kansas City, but the Royals ultimately decided to bring him back in his final year of arbitration eligibility. Slated to turn 29 next month, India played second base, third base and left field for the Royals in 2025 and could bounce around to different positions for them again in 2026.
- Mauricio Dubon HOU 2B
Braves' Mauricio Dubon: Avoids arbitration
7d agoAtlanta andDubon avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year contract Friday.
Jon Heyman of the New York Post says the deal is worth $6.1 million. Dubon was acquired via trade from the Astros earlier this week and is tentatively slated to open 2026 as Atlanta's starting shortstop. However, further roster additions could push the 31-year-old to a utility role.
- Payton Eeles MIN 2B
Orioles' Payton Eeles: Traded to Baltimore
7d agoTheOrioles acquiredEeles from the Twins on Friday in exchange for Alex Jackson, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.
Eeles slashed .253/.379/.321 with four homers and 21 stolen bases over 86 contests at Triple-A St. Paul in 2025. The 5-foot-5 utility player is capable of handling most positions, giving the Orioles some versatile depth.
- Anthony Rendon LAA 3B
Angels' Anthony Rendon: Expected to retire following buyout
2d agoTheAngels andRendon (hip) are in talks about buying out the final year of his seven-year, $245 million contract, Alden Gonzalez of ESPN.com reports.
Rendon is expected to agree to defer at least some of the $38 million he is owed in 2026, and, once the buyout is finalized, the 35-year-old is expected to retire. It will spell the end of one of the worst free-agent contracts in baseball history, as Rendon has slashed .242/.348/.369 and never played more than 58 games during his five seasons with the Angels. He missed most of the 2025 campaign following left hip surgery. Even after the dreadful tenure with the Halos, Rendon will still finish with a career .280/.364/.464 batting line with 158 home runs over 12 major-league seasons. He made one All-Star team, finished in the top-10 in National League MVP voting four times and won a World Series in 2019 with the Nationals.
- Jonah Bride MIN 3B
Rangers' Jonah Bride: Invited to Rangers' camp
3d agoBride signed a minor-league contract with theRangers on Tuesday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Bride finished 2025 with a mere .435 OPS over 125 plate appearances between Miami and Minnesota. He slashed .281/.423/.453 over 43 games in Triple-A, however, which was enough to earn him a shot with the Rangers this spring. He'll most likely report to Triple-A Round Rock at the start of the upcoming season.
- Enrique Hernandez LAD 3B
Enrique Hernandez: Will not be ready Opening Day
3d agoHernandez (elbow) said on Adam Ottavino's "Baseball & Coffee" podcast that he will miss the first "month or two" next season.
Hernandez revealed that the left elbow surgery he had earlier this month was a full extensor repair after the tendon tore completely off the bone. The utility man played through the injury for the second half of the regular season and playoffs, electing to delay a procedure until the offseason. Hernandez is currently a free agent and could wait until his rehab is farther along before signing with a new team.
- Andy Ibanez DET 3B
Andy Ibanez: Free agent after being non-tendered
7d agoThe Tigers non-tenderedIbanez on Friday, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports.
Ibanez had been projected to make around $2 million in his first year of arbitration eligibility, and the Tigers have decided against giving him that raise. The right-handed-hitting Ibanez is a career .280/.327/.452 hitter versus left-handed pitching and offers some defensive versatility, so he shouldn't have trouble landing a job elsewhere.
- Oswaldo Cabrera NYY 3B
Yankees' Oswaldo Cabrera: Gets $1.2 million from Yankees
7d agoTheYankees andCabrera (ankle) avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $1.2 million contract Friday, Jack Curry of YES Network reports.
Cabrera was limited to just 34 games in 2025 after requiring surgery in mid-May to repair a fracture and ligament damage in his left ankle. He should be a full participant in spring training and will get a nice raise in 2026 in his first year of arbitration eligibility. Cabrera is pegged for a utility role next season in The Bronx.
- James Triantos CHC 3B
Cubs' James Triantos: Shielded from Rule 5 Draft
10d agoTheCubs selectedTriantos' contract from Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday.
Triantos' dynasty value has taken a hit over the past year, as he has been a below-league-average hitter in 128 games at Triple-A dating back to 2024. A bat-first player, Triantos has shown remarkable pure hitting ability at Double-A and in the Arizona Fall League, so the Cubs will still protect him from the Rule 5 Draft despite the fact he slashed .258/.315/.369 in 102 games at Triple-A in 2025. If Triantos can take a step forward as a hitter, his propensity to steal bases could eventually come in handy in fantasy -- he has stolen 78 bases over the past two seasons.
- Luis Vazquez BAL SS
Orioles' Luis Vazquez: Remains in organization
5d agoVazquez cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.
The 26-year-old was designated for assignment Tuesday, but he'll stick in the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. Vazquez played 36 games for theOrioles last season and had a .160/.208/.240 slash line in 53 plate appearances.
- Vidal Brujan ATL SS
Braves' Vidal Brujan: Re-signs to split contract
7d agoBrujan (hip) signed a one-year split contract with Atlanta on Thursday.
The split contract is a minor-league deal that will allow Brujan to get a higher salary whenever he's on the major-league roster. The utility man had been a non-tender candidate prior to agreeing to the contract Thursday. Brujan ended the 2025 campaign dealing with a hip injury, but it isn't expected to linger into spring training.
- Elly De La Cruz CIN SS
Reds' Elly De La Cruz: Played with second-half quad strain
8d agoReds president of baseball operations Nick Krall revealed this week thatDe La Cruz played through a left quad strain from late July through the end of the season, Mark Sheldon and Manny Randhawa of MLB.com report.
It's not clear when exactly De La Cruz was first hurt, and Krall indicated the injury wasn't overly serious. However, after slashing .284/.359/.495 with 18 home runs and 25 stolen bases in the first half, De La Cruz hit only .236/.303/.363 with four homers and 12 steals in the second half, so it's reasonable to think the injury affected him to some degree. De La Cruz is expected to be fully healthy at the beginning of spring training.
- Nick Allen ATL SS
Astros' Nick Allen: Dealt to Houston
8d agoAtlanta tradedAllen to theAstros on Wednesday in exchange for Mauricio Dubon.
Allen's strong defensive capabilities at shortstop allowed him to appear in 135 games in 2025, though he finished the year with just a .535 OPS over 416 plate appearances. Now that he's moving to Houston, where Jeremy Pena is locked in at shortstop, Allen is likely to operate in more of a bench role.
- Liover Peguero PIT SS
Phillies' Liover Peguero: Inks minors deal with Phillies
9d agoThePhillies signedPeguero to a minor-league contract Tuesday, Aram Leighton of JustBaseball.com reports.
Peguero never got settled in during his four seasons with the Pirates, slashing just .227/.278/.368 over 315 plate appearances. He'll turn just 25 next month and can play all over the infield, so Peguero could be useful organizational depth for Philadelphia.
- Brewer Hicklen PHI CF
Braves' Brewer Hicklen: Nets MiLB pact from Atlanta
2d agoAtlanta signedHicklen to a minor-league contract Tuesday.
Hicklen got into one game with the Tigers in 2025 but spent nearly all of the season in the minors, slashing .221/.318/.403 with 16 homers and 25 steals over 95 contests. The outfielder will turn 30 in February and is likely to begin next season at Triple-A Gwinnett.
- Tommy Pham PIT LF
Tommy Pham: Played through plantar fasciitis
2d agoPham revealed that he's played though plantar fasciitis since the second half of the 2023 season, Will Sammon, Ken Rosenthal and Katie Woo of The Athletic report.
Pham said the foot issue first cropped up about one month after he was traded to the Diamondbacks at the 2023 deadline, and it has led to a lack of aggressiveness on the basepaths. The 37-year-old outfielder has only 12 steals on 18 attempts over the last two regular seasons. Pham believes his plantar fasciitis has been addressed after he underwent stem cell therapy earlier this offseason, and he is setting a goal of reaching 200 home runs and 200 stolen bases for his career. Given that he will turn 38 in March and sits at 149 homers and 131 steals, it is a lofty goal. Pham is a free agent after slashing .245/.330/.370 with the Pirates in 2025.
- Jose Ramos LAD RF
Mets' Jose Ramos: Signs with Mets
3d agoRamos signed a minor-league contract with theMets on Tuesday, Michael Mayer of MetsmerizedOnline.com reports.
The Dodgers promoted Ramos to Triple-A toward the end of the 2025 season, and he slashed .295/.359/.557 with eight homers, 27 RBI and 29 runs scored across 167 plate appearances. The 24-year-old will presumably report to Triple-A Syracuse upon joining the Mets organization, and his offensive stats are likely to drop now that he's out of the Pacific Coast League.
- Jake Fraley TB RF
Rays' Jake Fraley: Back with Rays on one-year deal
3d agoTheRays re-signedFraley to a one-year, $3 million contract Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
The Rays non-tendered Fraley last week, but he's now back on a new one-year pact. Fraley has never had more than 382 plate appearances in a major-league season, in part due to injury issues but also due to the left-handed hitter's career .508 OPS versus lefty pitchers. The 30-year-old does have a career .261/.344/.432 batting line against righties, though, and will be part of Tampa Bay's outfield mix in 2026.
- Brandon Nimmo NYM LF
Rangers' Brandon Nimmo: Dealt to Texas
5d agoThe Mets are finalizing a trade that will sendNimmo to theRangers in exchange for infielder Marcus Semien, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Nimmo is coming off a 2025 campaign during which he posted a .760 OPS with 25 home runs, 92 RBI and 13 stolen bases over 652 regular-season plate appearances. He also played in a career-high 155 contests and has been relatively durable in recent campaigns, logging at least 151 appearances every year since 2022 despite managing a foot injury. Nimmo should immediately take on a starting role in the Rangers' outfield and will be looked to for some pop, as he's averaged 24 regular-season long balls over the past three years. However, his defense has slipped of late (probably at least in part due to the foot issue), and he has five years remaining on his current deal, which may explain why the Mets decided to move him. Nimmo has a full no-trade clause in his contract, but he's already approved the deal, per Will Sammon of The Athletic.
- Carlos Rodriguez ATL CF
Padres' Carlos D. Rodriguez: Invited to Padres' camp
6d agoRodriguez signed a minor-league contract with thePadres on Friday that includes an invitation to spring training, Britt Ghiroli of The Athletic reports.
Rodriguez spent most of 2025 with Atlanta's Triple-A affiliate, where he slashed .247/.320/.323 with eight homers, 33 RBI, 53 runs scored and 17 steals across 531 plate appearances. The 24-year-old outfielder has yet to make his MLB debut and will likely begin 2026 at Triple-A El Paso.
- Dylan Cease SD SP
Blue Jays' Dylan Cease: Lands with Blue Jays
2d agoCease signed a seven-year, $210 million contract with theBlue Jays on Wednesday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
Cease will join the reigning American League champions and further bolster a rotation that already features Kevin Gausman, Shane Bieber and top prospect Trey Yesavage. The 29-year-old Cease was fairly underwhelming this past season, finishing with a 4.55 ERA and 1.33 WHIP across 168 regular-season innings. However, he's made at least 32 starts and struck out more than 210 batters every year since 2021, which helps to keep his fantasy appeal relatively high entering 2026.
- Easton Lucas TOR SP
Easton Lucas: Released by Blue Jays
3d agoThe Blue Jays releasedLucas on Tuesday.
Lucas made five starts and one relief appearance for Toronto this season, putting up a 6.66 ERA and 23:12 K:BB over 24.1 innings. Per Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca, the left-hander is expected to sign with a team overseas, and the Blue Jays will now have an extra 40-man roster spot to work with.
- Sean Manaea NYM SP
Mets' Sean Manaea: Did not need elbow surgery
3d agoManaea said last week that he did not require surgery to remove a loose body from his left elbow and he considers the injury "a thing of the past," Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
The southpaw was first diagnosed with a loose body in his elbow in June, but he missed minimal time and it was determined during an examination after the season that surgery was not necessary. There's a risk that the elbow issue will crop up again in the future, but for the time being, Manaea has a clean bill of health. The 33-year-old posted a 5.64 ERA over 60.2 frames for theMets in 2025, though that came with a 75:12 K:BB.
- Richard Fitts STL SP
Cardinals' Richard Fitts: Dealt to St. Louis
3d agoTheCardinals acquiredFitts and Brandon Clarke from the Red Sox on Tuesday in exchange for Sonny Gray and cash considerations, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Fitts made 14 starts and one relief appearance for the Red Sox the past two years, collecting a 3.97 ERA and 49:23 K:BB over 65.2 innings. The right-hander is under team control through 2031 and stands a good chance to open the season in the Cardinals' rotation. Fitts ended the season on the injured list with right arm neuritis, but he entered the offseason without limitations.
- Sonny Gray BOS SP
Red Sox's Sonny Gray: Traded to Red Sox
3d agoTheRed Sox acquiredGray and cash considerations from the Cardinals on Tuesday in exchange for Brandon Clarke, Richard Fitts and a player to be named later or cash considerations, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Gray had a no-trade clause but has agreed to waive his no-trade clause in order to facilitate a deal to the Red Sox. The 36-year-old posted a 4.28 ERA (3.39 FIP) and 201:38 K:BB over 180.2 innings for St. Louis in 2025, marking the second straight year he reached the 200-strikeout plateau. Gray is owed $35 million in 2026 and has a $5 million buyout on a $30 million mutual option for 2027.

- Sam Hentges CLE RP
Giants' Sam Hentges: Latches on with Giants

Braves' Joe Jimenez: Underwent another knee surgery
2d agoAtlanta president of baseball operations Alex Anthopoulos said last week thatJimenez recently underwent a cleanup procedure on his left knee, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Jimenez -- who is owed $9 million in 2026 in his final year under contract -- boasts a 2.81 ERA, 30.1 percent strikeout rate and 7.2 percent walk rate in his two regular seasons with Atlanta and should be in line for high-leverage bullpen work in 2026, if healthy.
