WandaVision has cast actor Teyonah Parris as an adult Monica Rambeau.
The news was announced at Comic-Con International in San Diego at theMarvel Studios presentation along with several other details about the series. Parris played Dawn Chambers on AMC'sMad Men and had a recurring role on Empire. She also starred in 2014'sDear White People and Buffalo Soldier.

The daughter of Maria Rambeau, Monica first appeared in Captain Marvel as a little girl. She was played by Akira Akbar in that movie. As that movie took place entirely in the '90s and the Marvel Cinematic Universe has now jumped forward several decades, an older actor was definitely necessary in order to bring her into the present day. In the comics, she's gone by several superhero names, including Spectrum, Pulsar, Photon and Captain Marvel.
Olsen teased a 1950s aesthetic for the show and revealed it would run for six hours. Shooting on the project will begin in the fall. Although Wanda is now alive again in the MCU after the events ofAvengers: Endgame, Vision remains dead, so it's unclear just how he's going to return for this series and what this might mean for him going forward.
