The Boys’ latest update from the Vought News Network has teased what fans can expect from Black Noir in the series’ third season.
In theOctober 2021 update of “Seven on 7 with Cameron Coleman,” host Coleman discusses that the network has received reports of a homicidal hitchhiker at large. Coleman says that the Seven and Vought have offered up Black Noir to deal with the threat, a sketch of the hitchhiker included. Fans of the series who streamed Season 2 may recognize this mystery person in question.

The supe is Cindy, a former patient at the Sage Grove Medical Center from Season 2, Episode 6 “The Bloody Doors Come Off.” She was freed from her cell after the Boys, specifically Frenchie, Mother’s Milk and Kimiko, had a run in with Lamplighter. Having strong telekinetic powers, she instantly crushed one worker at the center before freeing the other inmates. Later on, she is seen to have escaped the facility and hitched a ride while walking on the side of the road.
The news update implies that Cindy, one of the series most dangerous supes, will go head-to-head with the silent and lethal Black Noir. Noir has already proven his skills in the Season 2 episode “We Gotta Go Now.” The episode saw Noir track down Billy Butcher to his aunt’s house, whereHughie and Mother’s Milk were as well. After the crew sets several violent booby traps for the supe, he still manages to get through to nearly killing Butcher, the only thing sparing Butcher’s life being blackmail from the foul-mouthed leader of the show’s ragtag team.

Besides being extremely dangerous, a commonality shared between Noir and Cindy is that not much is known about their life and history. In the comics, Noir was a clone of Homelander created by Vought to destroy the spangled menace if he should ever become unruly and fall out of their control. However, all of this waiting for the one purpose he was made for and unable to live out his life as a real person drove Noir crazy. In turn, he killed Billy Butcher’s wife and framed Homelander for a multitude of other unspeakable horrors, though the series does not appear to be adapting this story, at least not yet.
In the show, Noir has remained silent, the only details fans receiving about his identity being through his or others’ actions. He can play the piano, does not appear to be big on killing children (based on his Season 2 mission in the Middle East) andhas a nut allergy. Not much is known about Cindy besides her name and powers, so fans will have to tune in to the series’ third season to find out more about the two and how they will collide.
WhileThe Boys Season 3 has no official release date, it has been reported to drop in mid-2022.
