The latest issue ofTeen Titans Academy sees the Titans' senior members-turned-teaching staff go on a mission to Markovia to rescue some potential recruits for the school. Yet this isn't the biggest change to the Titans ranks. Though they gained some new students, the Teen Titans just lost one of their heaviest hitters --Lobo's daughter, Crush.
Xiomara Rojas, or Crush as she prefers to be called, was created by Adam Glass, Bernard Change and Jorge Jiménez and made her first appearance in Teen Titans Special #1 in 2018. Since then, she has been a member of the Teen Titans. However, now that the Teen Titans and the older Titans group have joined forces to form Teen Titans Academy, Crush is feeling somewhat restless about the new arrangement.

Crush is initially seen listening to a message from her father, Lobo. As her original Teen Titans teammates come into the room, she quickly shuts off the message, telling her teammates nothing. If the obvious family problems weren't enough, Crush reveals that she isn't satisfied with the new team dynamic. With the return of the veteran Titans and the addition of the new students, Crush feels that she and her original teammates don't have any clear place in this new team. All of these frustrations lead to Crush storming off.
When theSuicide Squad attacks speedster student Bolt, Crush is the first one on the offensive. She flings their leader,Peacemaker, into the lockers and the other members of the Academy fight back. Everything changes when Amanda Waller issues new orders -- kill the kids. Crush is immediately on Talon, who takes Waller's orders very seriously. When the rest of the Squad is teleported away, Crush takes her anger out on the battered and bruised Talon.
Just as Crush's rage reaches its peak, the senior Titans arrive back from their mission. Starfire immediately tells Crush to release Talon. Crush refuses, telling Starfire that he's a murderer. Starfire's response, to Crush's shock, is to ask her if she's a murderer too. As Crush takes in Starfire's words, Talon is teleported away right from under her.
Crush immediately blames the Titans for distracting her, claiming it's their fault Talon got away. Donna Troy starts to tell Crush that it looked like she was going to kill him. Crush's problems with her parentage come through again as she asserts she isn't like her father, Lobo. Though Donna tries to calm her down, Crush decides she's finally done. Crush announces that she quits, throwing her Titans belt to the ground.
The issues between Crush and her father Lobo go back to Crush's childhood. Her adoptive parents told Crush her parents were superheroes. When she saw Superman and Lobo fighting on the news, she realized the horrible truth.Damien Wayne's Robin found Crush in a fighting ring and invited her to join the Titans.

Though she found a second family among the Teen Titans, her birth family caught up to her. The "Year of the Villain" event saw Lobo and Crush meet for the first time. Though the two initially duked it out, the interference of Lex Luthor allowed Lobo to take control of his daughter. Lobo used this power to make Crush kill someone, making it clear why being thought of as capable of murder is such a contentious issue for the hero. That one kill still haunts Crush and makes her fear how much of her father is in her.
Herteammate and friend Emiko insisted at the time that Crush was not a murderer but it seems her new teammates don't have that same level of trust. Crush will have to confront her family problems head-on in the upcoming Crush and Lobo series. Whether she'll change her mind about the Titans after that, however, still remains unclear.
