When he was just 17, Dick ran away from Wayne Manor due to a dispute withBatman and met Liu shortly after. At the time, Liu was working with the criminal "Metal Eddie," who sought to get as much metahuman power as possible.

11 Alia/Agent 8 And Dick Had A Passionate But Disagreeable Affair

Dick met Alia/Agent 8 when she was assigned to train him on how to use guns during his time as an agent of Spyral. The two became intimate quickly, but their passion soon turned to disagreement. Dick was raised not to use guns, and Agent 8 thought he was foolish to hold onto that belief.

Agent 8 showed up in the middle of Dick trying to apprehend a suspect and ended up getting shot. This death was later revealed to have been a fake-out, and she became a Dick's doppleganger. 10 Sonia Zucco And Dick Had A Complicated Relationship

Sonia Zucco was the daughter ofTony Zucco, the man who killed Dick's parents. Sonia spent her life trying to build a legacy that separated her from the type of person her father had been. Consequently, when Dick met her, she was going by the name Sonia Branch.

Dick quickly developed feelings for her, but the revelation about her father made their relationship complicated. Ultimately, the relationship ended because Dick couldn't get over his feelings about her father.

9 Barbara Gordon's Relationship With Dick Is Bad For Both Of Them

To make Barbara fit into the role of Dick's girlfriend, Barbarawas severely de-aged to fit Dick's age-group, when she was originally much closer in age to Batman. As a result, much of her professional achievements have been lost, including her time in theSuicide Squad, as a Congresswoman, andan independent hero inGotham. None of Dick's other relationships continuously dismiss his accomplishments or the heroic actions of other women as much as Dick/Babs does. Modern comic writers may favor this relationship, but it's easily the worst of Dick's serious commitments.

8 Lori Elton And Dick Enjoyed A Fun College Relationship

Dick first met Lori Elton when he started college, and the two of them were together for years in theBatmancomics. Lori and Dick were a serious couple, and their time together is one of the many casualties of DC constantly pushing Barbara as the only great love of Dick's life.

With Lori, Dick was able to confess how difficult it was to juggle his time at school with the expectations Bruce had for him. Lori and Dick were a supportive and healthy couple for each other until she ultimately dumped him for the villain, The Raven.

7 Deborah Poulos And Dick Grayson Had A Brief But Serious Romance

Dick met Deborah Poulos during the brief time he was living in New York and needed help knowing his neighborhood's history. As Deborah worked at the Cloisters museum, she was a great help to him, and they ended up going out to a baseball game together.

The two would go on a few more dates together, but ultimately, Deborah couldn't handle the stress of living in New York when it became targeted bysupervillains. She decided to move to California and asked Dick to come with her. Though this implied a seriousness to the relationship, Dick declined due to his responsibilities as Nightwing.

6 Bridget Clancy And Dick Were Interrupted By Dick/Babs

When Dick first moved to Bludhaven, he rented an apartment where Bridge Clancy was the superintendent. Bridget and Dick only shared a couple of dates and had interesting chemistry, but they were never going to go anywhere because Chuck Dixon was in the middle of writing his Dick/Babs romance.

Cheyenne Fremont was a part-time fashion designer with the misfortune of making her debutin Bruce Jones' Nightwing run. The run was full of questionable decisions, such as makingJason Todd into a tentacled monster, and was quickly forgotten by subsequent writers.

Still, the two of them managed to have an interesting, if brief, relationship. Cheyenne was a fellow hero with telekinetic abilities, and their abilities as heroes complimented each other well.

4 Helena Bertinelli And Dick Had A Romance In Multiple Continuities

When Dick andHelena Bertinelli first got together, it was a short one-night stand that ended up fizzling out due to their differing opinions about crime fighting and how to do it.

However, whenDC rebooted the universe with theNew 52, Dick ended up working with Helena in Spyral. In fact, theFuture's End storyline had Dick and Helena living together for years. Their relationship worked because they made good partners, whether that was fighting crime or being romantic.

3 Shawn Tsang And Dick Couldn't Overcome Their Differences

WhenNightwingRebirth began, Dick's love life also received a rebirth in the form of a new relationship with Shawn Tsang. Shawn was the former criminal known as Defacer, who Dick fought as Robin. Years later, the two met again when Shawn redeemed herself and devoted her life to public service. Shawn was one of the few women in Dick's life who knew he was Nightwing.

When Shawn briefly believed she was pregnant, then realized she wasn't, she broke up with Dick after acknowledging he brought out both the best and worst in her. Nevertheless, both Shawn and Dick admitted they still had feelings for one another.

Dick met Bea after he'd been shot in the head and lost all of his memories.
