Marvel took a chance when they created a movie based on the unknown Guardians of the Galaxy. However, thanks to a great director (James Gunn) and a great cast that meshed perfectly together, it ended up as one of Marvel's most popular franchises. In 2020, they will try to do it again with The Eternals, another lesser-known franchise taking place in the cosmic universe.
The good news is that the cast is already in place to be one of the best in Marvel history, with Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Brian Tyree Henry, Kumail Nanjiani, and Salma Hayek leading the way. With so many Eternals inMarvel Comics, it is important to know that these are some of the most powerful characters in existence.

Updated on January 1st, 2021 by Josh Davison: Interest in the obscure Marvel team The Eternals is beginning to grow as the film continues to approach. On top of that, a new Marvel Comics series is just over the horizon at the time of this update that has been given a lot of publicity as well as a powerhouse creative team in Kieron Gillen andEsad Ribić. Given their obscurity even among comic book readers, more and more people want to know more about the Eternals— including just how powerful they are. The truth is that the Eternals are immensely powerful, and spotlighting even 10 of them barely scratches the surface.
15 Druig

Druig is a more antagonistic Eternal somewhat comparable to Maximus the Mad of theInhumans. He is a power-hungry schemer whose plans have led to the detriment of other Eternals on several occasions. Regardless, he has mostly been allowed to remain among the Eternals. That was until Ikaris finally grew tired of Druig's actions and led an attack on him.
Druig's greatest powers lie in his telepathy and matter transmutation. He is a great manipulator and can alter matter with great precision. He can also emit a kind of flame that hurts other Eternals.
14 Grom/The Over-Mind

Grom, also known as the Over-Mind, is the union of a billion Eternal minds. Eternals have the ability to form this ultra-powerful entity called the Uni-Mind, and the Over-Mind is a perversion of that concept. Given this identity, the Over-Mind excels at telepathy, mental control, precognition, and psychokinetic projection. Grom is a being of immense mental power, though he lacks some of the other abilities that Eternals possess.
The Over-Mind has largely been an antagonistic force as well. He's battled the likes of the Fantastic Four, the Defenders, and the Squadron Supreme. However, he was also pivotal in saving the world alongside theThunderbolts when the Grandmaster attacked the Earth.
13 Eros/Starfox

Eros, aka Starfox, has been a longtime member of the Avengers and is also the brother of Thanos. Eros has the powers of other Eternals, but he is mostly known for his ability to manipulate minds and prod the pleasure centers of other sentient beings. Despite the somewhat ominous nature of those powers, he has almost always been a hero.
Starfox most recently surfaced after the death of Thanos at the hands of Gamora. It was revealed that Thanos had implanted his conscience in another living being and, in the event of his death, he would return through that being. Eros obsessively put together a "Dark Guardians" group to hunt down and kill this being, whom Eros was convinced to be Gamora. The Guardians of the Galaxy intervened, and it was ultimately revealed that Eros was the one with Thanos' mind inside of him.
12 Ard-Con/Ultimus

Ard-Con, aka Ultimus, is a Kree Eternal who has been both a hero to the Kree and an enemy of the humans. He's not innately malevolent, but his loyalty to the Kree has brought him into conflict with the Avengers, Thor, and others. Although he is an Eternal, he has never shown any allegiance to the Eternals of Earth or Titan.
Ultimus is a powerful being and has shown to be strong enough to even hurt the likes of Thor and Hercules. He can use cosmic and radioactive energies for a variety of purposes, including energy blasts, force fields, healing, and size and mass manipulation.
11 Zuras

Zuras is the leader of the Earth Eternals. Like the other Eternals, he is a very powerful being with an endless lifespan. He is also the first to initiate the Uni-Mind and was once the only Eternal who could initiate the Uni-Mind. He was also the most powerful energy manipulator of the Eternals.
With the arrival of the Final Host of Dark Celestials, the Eternals were driven mad and turned on one another. Unfortunately for poor Zuras, he was driven to commit suicide. It seems unlikely that this will be the last comic readers see of Zuras, especially with the newEternalscomic book coming up. However, for the time being, Zuras is no more.
10 Interloper

Interloper is one of Earth's Eternals but chose not to deal with any of them outside of a friendship with Gilgamesh. One of his key enemies was the Dragon of the Moon, who Interloper fought on numerous occasions, including by the side of the Eternals of Titan. After what he thought was his final battle with the Dragon, he became a hermit and lived away from everyone.
Interloper has most of the powers of the other Eternals of Earth, but he also has some specialized powers due to his discipline and training. As with all Eternals, he is immortal. He has superhuman strength, but 'only' in the 40-ton range. One of his impressive abilities is inducing fear in those around him that is so intense they won't even attempt to face him.
9 Gilgamesh

Gilgamesh will appear in the MCU Eternals movie, portrayed by Don Lee. In Marvel Comics, Gilgamesh is also known as The Forgotten One and is one of the strongest and most durable of the Eternals. While Gilgamesh does not have a lot of fans, he is basically the Eternals version of Thor, and that makes him pretty powerful.
Gilgamesh is physically the strongest of the Eternals and has the strength easily to lift over 100 tons. He is considered the most powerful of Earth's Eternals, is immortal, does not age, and is immune to most of Earth's diseases. He also has a regenerative healing factor.
8 Sersi

Sersi is possibly the most famous member of The Eternals for one big reason -- she was a member of the Avengers in Marvel Comics. There is no word yet on whether or not Sersi will appear inThe Eternals movie, but it would make sense based on her popularity. In comics, she is a sorceress who left the Eternals to live among humans.
Sersi is almost immortal and indestructible. She also possesses super strength and durability, but on a smaller scale of brings like Gilgamesh. She possesses the power of telepathy and can control weaker minds to do her bidding. She also has the skills of illusion and is considered a Class 4 or 5 when it comes to Eternals with this power.
7 Makkari

Makkari is another member of The Eternals that will be in the MCU movie, portrayed byThe Walking Dead actor Lauren Ridloff. The character was male in the comics but is female in the film as the first deaf MCU superhero.

Makkari is the one member of The Eternals that loved to interact with humans the most and often visited Earth to help and teach humans various skills. He has superhuman strength, with the ability to lift about 30 tons. However, his key power is super speed, which he has boosted to almost unprecedented levels.
6 Thena

Thena is the leader of the Eternals, and this is the character Angelina Jolie will portray in the movie. She was a warrior who took over as leader of Earth's Eternals when Zuras died. She has also, at times in Marvel Comics, been the greatest enemy of The Eternals when the Deviants brainwashed her to battle Ikaris.
By channeling cosmic energy, Thena can lift up to 25 tons. She is also immortal, as are other Eternals. While she is not the most powerful, she is one of the greatest warriors, fighters, and leaders of the Eternals of Earth.
