Where is CBP Using Biometrics Today?

CBP has successfully implemented facial biometrics into the processes for entering the United States atall international airports and into the processes for exiting the United States at 59 airports. CBP also expanded facial biometrics at39 seaports andall pedestrian lanes at both the Southwest Border and the Northern Border ports of entry.

CBP has leveraged biometric facial comparison technology to process over807 million travelers - which is equivalent to the combined populations of the United States and Mexico. Biometrics innovations have also prevented more than2,229 impostors from unlawfully entering the United States, strengthening national security and travel integrity.
