Everything you need to know about The Cambridge Folk Festival 2017
From Jake Bugg to Shirley Collins, food, booze and everything a little bit country
Cambridge is rife with festival antics at the moment, what with the last ever secret garden party and comedy festival last weekend, the night market, and outdoor cinemas popping up all over everywhere, it seems to us that Cambridge is the up and coming place to be this summer.
But perhaps the most famous of these events is The Cambridge Folk Festival.
The annual event is held at Cherry Hinton Hall and attracts folk fans in their thousands every year, and now has a little sister partnering with the legendary folk festival in Newport.
The tickets go on sale in December and are notoriously fast selling, although this year extra day tickets have been added for the Saturday.
An event promising; Cider. Sunshine. And LOTS of fiddles. And some of the greatest folky tunes around.
Get your floatiest frocks and flower crowns at the ready for the most anticipated event in Cambridge. (Other than the May balls) .

The Den
The Den tent will house all of the young folky emerging talents. In the past the Den has seen many talents develop their careers and move up to the main stage.
The Den acts for this year include: Wooden Arms, Sleepy Folk, Old Sea Brigade, Young Waters, Honey & The Bear, Emi McDade, Kizzi Crawford, Thom Ashworth, Lucy Farrel, The Lake Poets, The Wandering Hearts, Holly Macve, Rusty Shackle and many more.
Full details and stage times of each booked artist are included in the Souvenir Programme available from Official Merchandise tent inside the arena or the Information point just outside the arena entrance. Artist signings take place at the MOJO Signing Tent to the left of the Traders’ Marquee. Signing times are listed at the tent and generally announced from the stage after an artist has performed.

It's not just music you can look forward to at the folk festival.

Happy Camping Folk
Camping tickets will be exchanged for a tent tag by Box Office Staff. Stewards will be on hand to ensure you are okay and pitched correctly. But make sure you go to the Box Office and collect your tag as soon as you're pitched as untagged tents will be removed.
One camping ticket entitles you to a space large enough for a 2/3 berth tent (max size 4.5m x 3.5m inc. guy ropes, measured from the longest to the widest point). You must have purchased enough camping tickets for your size tent.
*Caravan and camper van tickets will need to be exchanged for vehicle passes.
Booze and Food

How refreshing
All you funky folk lovers will be happy to know you're allowed to take your own food and drink, although there will be plenty on offer. You can take as much alcohol as you like but no glass bottles are allowed. So stock up on some cans of Kopparberg and have yourself a barbecue, serenaded by those dulcet tones of Jake Bugg.
Summer bliss.Even if it rains.
