Eutelsat has extended its long-standing distribution deal with MBC Group, keeping the broadcaster’s portfolio on the 7/8° West video neighbourhood.

Under the renewed agreement, MBC will continue to use 7/8° West to deliver its mix of premium entertainment, news and cultural channels to millions of households across the region. Eutelsat says the neighbourhood reaches 95% of satellite homes in MENA and hosts the largest concentration of free-to-air and pay-TV services.

The companies have worked together for more than a decade. Eutelsat’s Raymond Estphan Rahme said the renewal reflects MBC’s trust in the platform’s reliability, while MBC COO Joe Igoe called 7/8° West “central” to the group’s broadcast strategy for quality and reach.

The partnership underlines Eutelsat’s role as a key enabler of high-quality broadcasting in MENA, with 7/8° West remaining a cornerstone for the network’s regional distribution.

On Tuesday, Eutelsat announced an extension of its long-running partnership with Oman’s Ministry of Information, securing continued satellite capacity on Eutelsat 21B at 21° East for the country’s national broadcasting services.

Separately, Eutelsat reported first-quarter revenues of €293 million for the three months to 30 September 2025, down 0.3% like-for-like. Video was down 10.5% to €134 million and Connectivity up 8.6% to €149.4 million. LEO revenues rose 70.7% year-on-year to €54.1 million, while GEO fell 10.1% to €95.3 million. Management cited a tough quarter-on-quarter comparison after exceptionally high LEO terminal sales and catch-up revenues in Q4.
