Britbox launches in Australia
BritBox has today (November 23) gone live in Australia following earlier launches in the United States, Canada and the UK.
As before the premise is to offer viewers a single place from where the best in British television can be streamed. It’s a partnership between BBC Studios and ITV.
“Australians have an affinity for British television and the launch of BritBox in Australia is a unique opportunity to tap into this passion and nostalgia. We look forward to firmly establishing ourselves with Australian streaming audiences,” said Moira Hogan, Country Manager, BritBox.
November 23 is recognised as Doctor Who Day – in tribute to the long running BBC sci-fi show that began this day in 1963. BritBox is offering the largest available collection of Doctor Who episodes in Australia featuring the 13 actors to have played the doctor.
Also available is the recent reboot of All Creatures Great and Small, featuring Nicholas Ralph, Rachel Shenton and Callum Woodhouse and another revamp, the satirical series Spitting Image.
