Christopher Walken is an American actor who has appeared in more than 100 films.


Walken recently - and perhaps surprisingly - took a role in Stephen Merchant's new comedyThe Outlaws.


The six-part comedy-drama series follows complete strangers who are thrown together through serving community payback - served by painting a building in Bristol.

Merchant stars in the series, too, as the awkward geek who's also a part of the community service group.

Every member of the group will slowly reveal why they are serving community payback, building suspense throughout the show.


The series will start today (October 25) at 9pm onBBC One.

Who does Christopher Walken play in The Outlaws?

The 78-year-old plays Frank in the series - a womaniser and conman.

Walken toldthe i: “I knew guys like him growing up in Queens.”


“He looks like me, he doesn’t always tell the truth… performance is his thing and being amusing is a big point.

"In order to get through life, you have to do a bit of tap dancing.”

Christopher Walken has had an amazing and diverse career.

He's played everyone from a Bond villain (in A View to a Kill) to Gyp DeCarlo in Jersey Boys.

  • Catch Me If You Can - Walken won a SAG and BAFTA award as Best Supporting Actor and also received an Oscar nomination for playing Leonardo Dicaprio's character Frank's father in this 2002 movie, also starring Tom Hanks.
  • The Deerhunter - This 1978 film sees Walken play Nick who is a corporal in the epic war drama. His performance gave him an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
  • Pulp Fiction - Walken's famous monologue about the gold watch in Pulp Fiction captured the attention of many. He played the supporting role of a Vietnam veteran named Captain Koons.
  • Man on Fire - The famous movie about an entrepreneur's daughter who goes missing stars Walken, who plays Rayburn, a good friend of the main character.
  • Hairspray - Walken played Wilbur Turnblad in the 2007 adaptation of the musical and plays the protagonist's father.
