Anthony Joshua awaits?

There’s a decent chance thatAnthony Joshua awaits one of the two men in this weekend’s big heavyweight title fight – and there’s a possibility that it could actually be the winner.
In the eyes of many, the idea of Anthony Joshua – who is coming off the back of aknockout loss to Daniel Dubois – getting the winner of this fight makes no sense. Well, the good news is that if it’sOleksandr Usyk, it almost certainly won’t happen as AJ is 0-2 against the champion. If it’sTyson Fury, however, that’s a chance to put on arguably the biggest fight in British boxing history.
It does help give a better understanding of what exactly it is that someone like Joshua brings to the table. In addition to his obvious abilities, he possesses the kind of star power that is always going to make him seem alluring as a possible opponent for one of the big champions.
Whether or not he deserves it, of course, is a different matter altogether.
The Anthony Joshua problem
He didn’t look like himself in the Dubois fight whatsoever but, as we know, everyone has an off night, and there may be nothing more to it than that. Still, Daniel was the one who got his hand raised, and he’s the one diving right back into the lion’s den for a collision with Joseph Parker in Saudi Arabia this February.
Anthony Joshua has yet to confirm what his next steps are, and perhaps that’s because he knows a showdown withTyson Fury could be imminent regardless of whether or not ‘The Gypsy King’ defeats Usyk. It all comes back to the politics of boxing and although we’ve always known it to be a problem, the fact that we’re getting so many high level fights – especially at heavyweight – has helped gloss over it for so long.
