Game Review

It was this spell of mid-season football that really raised the hopes of Carlton fans the country over. Our midfield, led by 1994 Brownlow medallistGreg Williams plusFraser Brown andCraig Bradley, were racking up possessions while our mosquito fleet of small forward / midfielders inAdrian Gleeson,Troy Bond andBrent Heaver remained dangerous. Form forwardStephen Kernahan remained a focus for the Blues, whilst plenty of opportunities were given to young tyroJames Cook to learn the caper. The Blues were a heavy possession team who could thrash the lesser lights of the competition, and the occasional finals team as well.

Carlton would lead the struggling Saints at every change, increasing the margin as they went. In a game that should provide welcome memories to Carlton fans of the period 2002-2005, the Blues would win by 80 points and move into third spot after a surprise Fitzroy victory over Hawthorn.
