Member of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame (Inducted 1964)
A.H. (Bert) Warwick’s involvement in football in this province went from the huddle to the sidelines to the board room. Warwick was a quarterback for St. Paul’s College back in the 1930s and in 1934 began coaching, first with the Manitoba YMHA and then at St. Paul’s College before he became an assistant with the Blue Bombers. He was the club’s head coach in 1945, taking the team to the Grey Cup final before they fell to the Toronto Argonauts.
He was the president of the Winnipeg Junior Bombers and then served on the rules committee for the Canadian Rugby Union and the Canadian Football League for eight years.
