While a fine sequel with a pure heart and a wonderful final scene, 2017’s “Paddington 2” has become a religion for some people, evolving into a true test of cineaste authority, newly treated as one of the best family films of all time. It’s an excellent movie, and it gives the producers a tremendous challenge in following it up, and perhaps this is why it’s taken “Paddington in Peru” so long to reach screens.
