We all knowBen Platt is an excellent singer and a gifted actor, but in his latest video, the rising star is proving he’s a true triple threat with some intense dance moves.
On Tuesday (Sept. 10), Platt dropped a video for “Rain,” his uplifting anthem dedicated to fighting past feelings of heartbreak and choosing love. The gorgeous new video, directed by James Larese, sees a downtrodden Platt pull into an abandoned gas station as a text message comes across his phone, reading, “I’m all in … u?”
As Platt walks away from his car, he slowly starts to gain confidence, as displayed through his bolder dance moves. He moves his passionate dance inside the now neon-lit gas station, before ultimately stepping back outside and finishing his song in the pouring rain. “We can’t run from the wind and the thunder/ When we’re dancing under the rain, the rain, the rain,” he sings.
Platt’s new video comes just a day after it was announced that his upcoming sold-out performance at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall will be filmed and transformed into a Netflix concert special. While the special has yet to be given an air date, you can still catch Platt on Netflix this month: His new Ryan Murphy-helmed television show The Politician debuts Sept. 27.
