A$AP Yams's Cause of Death Remains Unknown

Preliminary examination completed on body of 26-year-old A$AP Mob co-founder.

Authorities in New York are still investigating what caused thedeath of 26-year-oldA$AP Yamslast weekend, theFADER reports.

Though a preliminary autopsy was performed, the“cause and manner of death are pending further studies,” according to Julie Bolcer, spokesperson for the office of the Chief Medical Examiner of New York. There were no signs of trauma foundon the body of the lateA$AP Mob founder. Toxicology results will be revealed in the coming weeks. 

Early reports indicated that Yams, who checked into rehab last July, may have succumbed to a drug overdose. Friends likeJoey Fatts andA$AP Antboth denied the rumor. Fatts tweeted that Yams suffered from sleep apnea but later deleted the post, while Ant addressed the story in a VLAD TV interview.”People keep talking about he overdosed off Xanax or whatever and lean. No. That's not what happened,” he said. 

Yams, birth name Steven Rodriguez, was found unconscious and unresponsive by his roommate Sunday (Jan. 18) morning, according to a police report. He was pronounced dead at Brookyln’s Woodhull Medical Center.
