While fans were caught up in the matrix of NickiMinaj's "love scene" withLil Wayne in her"High School" video, they may have missed a glimpse of her choosing the pink pill— a special edition Beats by Dre speaker on her windowsill.
The product placement was the first look at theAmerican Idol judge's latest collaboration. Her signature version of the Pill mini speaker is in that recognizable Barbie hue and maintains that studio sound quality that the Beats line boasts.
"I am so excited about this product,"Minaj gushed. "It's something I actually use. It's a tiny little speaker that I can travel with, yet the sound is incredibly loud and rich. I knew the Barbz would not only love it, but that they'd want it in pink! So here ya go Barbz!!!! My PINK PILL!"
Minaj will premiere her new commercial for the speaker duringAmerican Idol next Wednesday (April 10).
Retailing for $199, the Beats Pill is a bluetooth-enabled compact speaker that offers the option to access music wirelessly. Beats unveiled the product last fall, first releasing it in black, white and red. The color palette has since expanded to include two other special-edition designs in addition to Minaj's pink version, but it remains exclusive with the pink Pill only available at AT&T stores, att.com orbeatsbydre.com.
Also spotted in the video: hints of the YMCMB queen's forthcoming clothing collection.
