The BC Lions are proud to continue our partnership with World Vision Canada as our National Charity Partner. In 2025, we’re turning our focus toward one of the most urgent needs facing communities in parts of the world: access to clean, safe water.

This year, wide receiverJevon Cottoy takes on the role of BC Lions Player Ambassador, travelling with World Vision to Taveta, Kenya, where he’ll witness firsthand the impact that water scarcity has on families and children. His journey will help shine a light on the urgent need for sustainable water solutions, and kick off a season-long campaign involving the Lions, the CFL, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ Drew Wolitarsky, and fans across the league to raise funds and help bring clean water to Taveta.

As part of our ongoing commitment to helping children and communities thrive, the BC Lions are proud to stand beside World Vision Canada, an organization creating real, lasting change around the globe. Together, we’re working to overcome poverty, injustice, and inequality.Last year, Linebacker Bo Lokombo and Sr. VP of Business George Chayka travelled to Kenya with World Vision and fellow CFL representatives to see these efforts in action. Their journey was captured in the short documentaryBeyond Borders: Kenya Expedition with World Vision, which follows their visits to local schools, youth centres, and powerful community moments.

Together, we can be part of something bigger.

Bo Lokombo is proud to serve as a World Vision ambassador. Lokombo was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo and fled with his family when he was only 6 years-old. The veteran linebacker says working with World Vision hits close to his heart, as he can still see himself in the eyes of all the children he met during his trip to Kenya in early 2024.

What makes a place dangerous?

Extreme poverty. Climate change. Famine. Conflict. These factors make a place fragile and block children and their families from having their basic needs met. When you give through Raw Hope, World Vision can help children and their families, living in places others can’t reach. Places like Honduras, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), South Sudan, Syria, Lebanon, Somalia, Iraq, and Afghanistan*.

*Afghanistan disclaimer: As an International Partnership, World Vision Canada (WVC) is still operational in Afghanistan and working to meet the needs of children and their families. WVC has worked in Afghanistan but, as a result of a change in Afghanistan’s government, at this time, no Canadian raised funds (either from private donations or from government) can be programmed there due to Canadian Criminal Code restrictions.
