Bodo/Glimt had won the first leg 2-0 in Norway
Bodo/Glimt survived a superb Lazio fightback to win a frantic encounter on penalties and reach the Europa League semi-finals.
The 3-2 success on spot-kicks, following a 3-3 draw on aggregate, was the first time any Norwegian side had reached the last four of a men's European competition.
Bodo/Glimt will now face Tottenham for a place in the final, with the first leg taking place in London on 1 May and the second at the Aspmyra Stadion on 8 May.
With a two-goal deficit to overcome, Valentin Castellanos gave Lazio hope in the Rome return with a 23rd-minute opener.
The Argentine forward sent an expert backheeled effort past Nikita Haikin after Gustav Isaksen pulled the ball back to him on the edge of the six-yard box.
Tijjani Noslin then made it 2-0, levelling the tie on aggregate in dramatic fashion, when he bundled in from close range from a corner in the third minute of injury time.
Substitute Boulaye Dia added a third in extra time to put Lazio in control of the tie, leaping highest to head home a Matteo Guendouzi cross.
However, Andreas Helmersen brought the visitors back to parity in the 109th minute by powering Sondre Brunstad Fet's cross past home keeper Christos Mandas.
The forward, though, could not take part in the resulting shootout when he was sent off for a second yellow card in the final minute of extra time.
Jens Petter Hauge had Bodo/Glimt's first penalty saved while Lazio scored through Dia, but two missed spot-kicks from Loum Tchaouna and Noslin, and two scored by Fet and Sondre Sorli swung the outcome in favour of the Norwegian side.
But Patrick Berg missed the chance to win it for the visitors after both sides had netted their fourth penalty.
But goalkeeper Haikin then saved Castellanos' effort to make it 3-2 to Bodo/Glimt and spark jubilant celebrations for their historic achievement.

Match Facts
Lazio’s only previous meeting with Bodø/Glimt was in the 2-0 defeat in the first leg of this tie. They last hosted a Norwegian side back in October 2015, beating Rosenborg 3-1 in the UEFA Europa League.
Bodø/Glimt are winless in all six of their European trips to Italy (including qualifiers), drawing one and losing five. Their last away game in Italy was in a quarter-final second leg, losing 4-0 to Roma in the 2021-22 Conference League.
Lazio have been eliminated in 12 of their previous 15 major European ties when losing the first leg, progressing against Chornomorets Odesa in the 1975-76 UEFA Cup, Boavista in the 1977-78 UEFA Cup and FCSB in the 2017-18 UEFA Europa League. However, they’ve never overturned a two-goal first leg deficit.
Teams winning the first leg of a UEFA Europa League knockout tie by 2+ goals have progressed 94% of the time (144/154). At the quarter-final stage, the progression rate is 84% (16/19), with Basel (2013-14 vs Valencia), Lazio (2017-18 vs RB Salzburg) and Benfica (2018-19 vs Eintracht Frankfurt).
Lazio are unbeaten in their last 13 home UEFA Europa League matches (W7 D6) since losing 2-1 to Celtic in November 2019. They’re winless in three in the knockout stages however (D2 L1) since a 4-2 victory against RB Salzburg in April 2018.
Only three players have had a hand in more home UEFA Europa League goals this season than Lazio’s Valentín Castellanos (3 goals, 2 assists). He’s scoring or assisting every 63 minutes at the Stadio Olimpico this campaign.
Bodø/Glimt captain Patrick Berg has made 60 tackles in the UEFA Europa League this season, a record by a player in a single campaign. He’s also won possession 94 times (the most of any player this season) and made 26 interceptions, with only Josip Sutalo (30) making more in 2024-25.
Bodø/Glimt’s Jens Petter Hauge created five chances in open play in the first leg and has created 21 overall in the UEFA Europa League this season, with only three players creating more. It’s the most ever by a Norwegian player in a Europa League season.
