Aberdeen's board have to be praised for backing their manager and, for me, it is looking really positive.

Queen's Park head coach Callum Davidson tells BBC Scotland: "It's a wee lesson for us. We started the game pretty well but had that wee period where we concede two quick goals that takes the game away from us.

"Then, for another 25 minutes, it's backs against the wall. They score the fourth and it becomes a long afternoon.

"The lads gave me everything, kept going and didn't stop until the end. Louis Longridge ended up playing centre-half. We're short because of injuries, lost one this morning before the game, Adam Devine at half-time and Niko [Ujdur] at 60 minutes. It was a tough afternoon in that respect.

"I was pleased with their character. They quite easily could have gone under, could have been a big scoreline, but they kept fighting. I can't be too hard on them."

Aberdeen striker Kevin Nisbet, who scored the opening goal, has also been speaking to BBC Scotland.

"Queen's Park started really well and took us by surprise, but then we grew into the game," he says. "It was a great game."

Asked about his recent improved form, the on-loan Millwall marksman adds: "It's the work I've been putting in off the park. I've been working very hard and getting some minutes, enjoying my football as well. I've got a smile back on my face."

Is he hoping for a Scotland squad recall? "I'm not even thinking about that," he replies. "I'm just thinking about the next game."

Player of the match Ante Palaversa tells BBC Scotland: "We started pretty well, we discuss between each other that we had to push from the first minute. We did a great job.

"Our priority is to go all the way to the end and win it. We just have to keep in mind that winning mentality."
