Watch: Demolition of multi-storey car park begins
Hydraulic crushing machines have begun demolition of a city shopping precinct's multi-storey car park.
It is the first large building at Anglia Square in Norwich to bepulled down to make way for 1,100 homes, retail and leisure spaces.
The precinct, built in the late 1960s and early 1970s, was bought by Norwich City Council for £5.6m in December 2025 after a housing developer pulled the plug on a £300m regeneration scheme.
Norwich City Council leader Mike Stonard said the demolition work was "on track" and was expected to continue until the end of May.
