Its over. Its really over. As I look at the flames buring all of the paintings, jewelry and books, I think about how Florence was before Lorenzo Medici passed away from his illness. The Medici empire was damned as soon as Lorenzo was put into power. Savonarola believes that Lorenzo ruined the empire and it had gotten out of control. He turned people away from the Christian way of life and encouraged them to live freely in a secular lifestyle. Whatever happened to a good clean catholic lifestyle? Savonarola said that the Medici empire would finally crumble and it did once Lorenzo died.(The Medici)
The medici family once ruledFlorence and they thrived for years on end, even though they had many enemys. When I was just a little girl I can remember

Florentine and Rose-Anna do not seem similar in any way; many may argue to say that they are similar due to the amount of time and effort they put into providing for the family. I however, do not think that is a valid reason to say they are similar in any way. The reason being, they provide with different intentions. Rose-Anna obeys and believes in her role as the mother of the family and that is all; Florentine however, sees herself outside of the family sphere. Rose-Anna provides for the family because that is her duty as a mother; to provide for the family in every way she can (cooking, cleaning, sewing, etc). Florentine provides for the family financially, but she also identifies herself as more than just the daughter of Rose-Anna and Azarius.

The first thing I would do is expand the company’s production of wine. Numerous restaurants in Nashville have demonstrated an interest in making Belle Meade their official wine. I believe this presents both a challenge and a great opportunity. Although Belle Meade has no real competition now, this could change in the near future. I think the company should make the necessary expansions and seize this unique chance.

Giralamo Savonarola was born in Ferrara in 1452. He was brought to Florence by Lorenzo after Pico della Mirandola encouraged him to bring Savonarola to the city. In Ferrara, Savonarola was a traditionalist and a moralist and renowned as a preacher and a prophet. Upon his arrival, Savonarola did not intend on reforming the city and returning it to a religious centered state. Yet, after witnessing the atrocities of Florence, he became a reformer and an outspoken enemy of the Medici family.

The wind was whipping fiercely when Nikki Maratea, her younger sister Alex, and Nikki's 3-week-old son Derrian went to catch an elevated train in Philadelphia near the home they shared with their mother. Thinking she had put the brake on the stroller, Nikki, 20, let it go to argue with the cashier, who insisted she pay the $2 fare before moving to the platform. A moment later Alex, then 10, looked toward her nephew—but he and his stroller were gone. "I said, 'Nikki,'" Alex recalls, "'where's the baby?'" They could hear Derrian's cries, but saw no sign of him. "Then," Alex says, "I looked down." What she saw was a nightmare: The stroller, blown by the wind, was lying on the tracks, about four

According to dosomething.org around 1,836 people died from Hurricane Katrina. From the research I did I think we should evacuate Gavelston because my research says that Rita will be a Category 5 hurricane and so was Katrina and she killed that many people. Other hurricanes have also created much damage in the past and we don’t want people getting stuck and hurt from this. Although people think that isn’t that bad and we can stay in our homes I think we should evacuate.

I was furious when the leaders of the civil rights movement believed Claudette was not a good example for the movement so they completely left her alone. I hated how they abandoned her in a sense when she had a child because it was deemed inappropriate and she was not allowed to tell her story. I can not comprehend people who have the same goal but refuse to accept the help of others because of their age of gender. Claudette would have been a great example of the unfair treatment of people of color because she is an educated teen that strongly believes in justice.Teenagers of all time periods do not have much of a voice in society when we are the ones who are leading the next generation.

A post Middle Age Italy was afflicted by medieval wars and the bubonic plague. A change was needed to restore the vision of what Italy could become. This change was found within one family: the Medici’s, who helped to return the glory and influence to Florence. The Medici’s saw the value in contributing to the advancement of the greatest minds of the period. This was evident in their patronage of leading Artists such as Michelangelo and of renowned Teachers such as Galileo. The sphere of influence the Medici’s enjoyed also extended to the political arena, which happened to be heavily influenced by the Catholic Church at the time. The Medici’s were able to capitalize on the power of the Church and through this influence and the use of

Most hurricanes are formed over the Atlantic Ocean. The optimal weather conditions for a hurricane to form are warm, moist air as the fuel, warm ocean water and wind. Combining all of these factors makes for a strong, powerful hurricane. Hurricanes are formed when warm, moist, air moves over the water, the warm air rises being replaced by cooler air. The cooler air starts warming and rises. This cycle repeats and creates very large storm clouds to form. The wind makes the clouds spin into a large counter-clockwise pattern. As the wind speeds pick up, it makes the clouds spin faster and making it more dangerous.

The Renaissance period was the period that was referred to as the "the rebirth" of Classical culture. During this era, many Italians believed that they observed the rebirth of antiquity or Greco-roman civilization (334). Throughout this time period, the art that came out was similar to the growth that happened in philosophy, literature, music and science. Renaissance art focused more on humans, the accurate portrayal of the natural world as well as the old architecture of the Romans. The Renaissance art was reflected politically because during this time, the cities were ruled by wealthy families. Families such as the Medici family were extremely powerful and influential during this time (335). In their prime days, the Medici family was considered the most influential money lenders and best bank in Europe (335).
