East, West all-stars at Dunbar tonight
The battle between Baltimore’s best basketball players resumes this evening at Dunbar High with the Rodney Beasley East vs. West All-Star Games, sponsored by the Baltimore Metro Coaches Association.
The underclassmen will play at 5 p.m. The East underclassmen will be led by Dunbar’s Keith Booth and Southern’s Damon Cason, both All-Metro first-team selections this past season.
The West Underclassmen will be led by three members of the 1992 MSA B Conference champion Edmondson Redskins — Eddie Rivers, Randolph Edison and Maurice Blanding.
The seniors meet at 7 p.m. The East roster includes Dunbar’s Cyrus Jones, an All-Metro first-team pick, and the West team includes Carver’s Rodney Black, another All-Metro first-team choice.
Following the seniors game, there will be a scrimmage between Baltimore’s 19-under AAU stars led by Dunbar’s two All-Americans, Donta Bright and Michael Lloyd, vs. Philadelphia’s AAU stars, led by Simon Gratz’s 6-foot-11 center, Rasheed Wallace. Wallace and Dunbar’s Booth will be two of the nation’s top seniors next season.
