Gov. Ned Lamont to deliver commencement remarks at CCSU

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont will deliver his first commencement remarks as governor to students from a familiar institution: Central Connecticut State University.

The former cable television entrepreneur was appointed Distinguished Professor of Political Science and Philosophy at the school in 2006. His official bio says he is still on the school’s faculty as an adjunct professor of political science and philosophy.

During his time at CCSU, Lamont founded a business start-up competition.

Lamont on May 18 will address students receiving graduate and undergraduate degrees from CCSU’s Ammon College of Liberal Arts and Social Services and the School of Engineering, Science & Technology during a morning ceremony at the XL Center in Hartford.

Scott Pioli, assistant general manager for the Atlanta Falcons, will be the featured speaker during an afternoon ceremony.
