How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

Definitely Not “Good”
The quality of this book was marked as “Good.” That’s not the case. The dust jacket is very damaged, which wouldn’t be a big deal if the book itself wasn’t waterlogged and literally separated from the binding. Wouldn’t have even spent $5 on this if I had seen it. Not cool.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 4, 2012I had a big crush on Roddy McDowall and always wanted his books but could never find them. Finally, the first one was available at a reasonable price; however, after reading it, I was a little disappointed. Overall, the photography was good. Some photos were so-so and others were fantastic. The basic premise was Mr. McDowall's photos combined with text written by stars of the day about other stars of the day, presumably, people they knew. The writing ranged from clever to abysmal. Overall, the execution of this project didn't live up to the hype I remembered. There are three additional books which can be bought at reasonable prices from Amazon.com. I will buy Double Exposure Take Two, ...Take Three, and ...Take Four because I still have a special place in my heart for the late actor/photographer; that's why I said Double Exposure is an acquired taste.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 12, 2020Mr. McDowall is an excellent photographer. At the time it was a new idea and a different premise to have famous people write about other famous people.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 15, 2024Lovely edition (there are four). Hollywood's best friend & confident, Roddy McDowall, shares his intimate photos as well as individual someone-on-someone else mini essays. The people run the gamut of celebritydom, not just Tinseltown.
My only problem with thes coffee table books is that they come off as dated. They're decades old, and they feel it. Every version I ordered was a used copy, so I saved good money, but they'll sit and collect spine-dust underneath others on my low-slung surfaces. - Reviewed in the United States on May 23, 2020Wasn’t really what I thought it was going to be. But like able book
