Product Description
The Nerdist himself, Chris Hardwick, celebrates all things nerdy in his first Comedy Central special. Hipsters beware: there is no irony in Chris's affinity for Captain Picard, Comic-Con and the Atari 2600. Mandroid features candid tales that cover virginity, chess club, shark vaginas, awkward childhood, awkward adulthood (which in his case is an extension of childhood) and a myriad of other topics which may or may not include Quidditch. This extended and uncensored DVD is truly a wonderland of discovery.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 6, 2013I have been waiting to see Chris Hardwick do a full stand up set ever since seeing him do a few minutes on stage before the Nerdist Podcast taping in NYC with Jim Gaffigan. He was so funny it left me wanting more.
This special did not disappoint one bit. Chris knows how to tell a story and keep you interested. The jokes are well written and anyone who can make a stabbing at Comic-Con sound almost gangster gets my vote.
Plus you have to give it up for anyone who wears a metallic looking suit. He would have fit in the movie Heartbeeps rather well. Obscure enough movie reference for ya??? - Reviewed in the United States on January 23, 2013As stand-up, Chris Hardwick has all the tools: not merely presence, timing, and physicality, but also an unusual density of material. Mr. Hardwick has a point of view that is relentlessly both warm and analytic that also manages to be heartfelt, puerile, and hysterical all in the same furry bundle. Fans of his book and The Nerdist Podcast will not be disappointed. Fans of the NFL and The Sportist podcast may (may) be less enthusiastic. A flagon of mead should be raised in the name of Squire Hardwick.
The only problem with the DVD is that we had to wait so long for it to be released; I've been waiting by my mailbox since November. And it's been snowing and cold. So cold. - Reviewed in the United States on May 8, 2014I love Chris Hardwick and everything he does, but I was a bit floored by the language he used. Yes, geeks can be sexy and his comedy over all is fantastically punny and entertaining, but hearing his Podcasts & interviews, I feel like stand-up Chris is a different animal at times. I enjoyed it, but I nearly spit out a drink or two during the first viewing.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 22, 2015I have been a fan of Chris Hardwick since he started showing up on Talk Soup a few years ago. I love watching him on Talking Dead and @Midnight is one of my new favorite shows. This stand-up special from 2012 is so funny - I never stopped laughing. Chris is never shy about telling embarrassing stories about himself and those stories are hilarious. My favorite was about his mother buying him hamsters to mate. Chris always says he's a nerd but after watching this I think he's a talented, funny, and very handsome guy. I'm looking forward to his next Comedy Central special.

Chris Hardwick is in the mind of Nerd culture and presents it in the funnest way. Starting with the animation opening which is very Ren and Stimpy. His story about going to school with his Atari games, I lost it at that point. On Mandroid Chris takes all his best bits from his podcast. So if you don't have the time to listen to 300+ podcast then Mandroid is for you. But listen to them anyway they are awesome([...]). The suit he wore looked great, you can see his VaderPu$$y. Enjoy your Burrito! - Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2017I watch a lot of stand up comedy, some of my favorites right now are Tom Segura, Mike Birbiglia, Jen Kirkman and Bill Burr. George Carlin is probably my all time favorite comedian though. I was just surprised that this special had a 5 star rating...it's really not that great. I have nothing against Chris Hardwick either, I just feel like the only reason this special could have 5/5 stars is because of how much people like him and how well he treats his fans rather than how good the actual jokes are.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2016Chris Hardwick is such a funny and incredible man. The special was hilarious I've listened to the free podcast version over 20 times and decided to go ahead and buy it on amazon. Love his podcast the nerdist as well. So happy Mike Birbigla got you to write from an uncomfortable place. Completely enjoyed it have watched it almost every night since I downloaded it first time I watched it I missed bits because I was laughing so hard. Great job Chris keep up the amazing work and I will stuff every bit of it in my ear and eye holes.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2014Adore this guy on TV. In fact, I WORSHIP him. So quick, so bright, so unbelievably clever. And charming, and cute and...you get the picture. But here, a major dud. Not just disappointing, bad. As in terrible. Couldn't watch. Spoiler alert: I'm in my 60s, so age might be a factor. But I'm so entranced by the man on @midnite!

There she blows! Needless to say if you listen to many of my Podcast's Mr. Chris Hardwick comes up quite often so it is no surprise that I gave this a 5 out of 5! - Trevor BabeyReviewed in Canada on April 12, 2014
3.0 out of 5 starsAmusing
Chris Hardwick does have some charm here. It is far from the best stand up comedy disc I have ever seen but it does have many moments that I found amusing
