Programs

Students
The Foundation’s approach to addressing education issues in Ras Al Khaimah includes direct programming for students. These opportunities seek to help students grow personally and academically in order to reach their full potential. The Foundation’s student initiatives complement the Ministry of Education’s curriculum for government secondary schools and include opportunities for overseas university studies at the bachelor's and post-graduate levels.
Hands-on-Learning
Hands-on-Learning (HOL) is a program for at-risk secondary school students developed in Australia and adapted for use in the UAE by the Al Qasimi Foundation in 2014 for implementation at schools in Ras Al Khaimah. This program re-engages students in school by supporting them in improving their behavior, building self-confidence, learning new skills, completing hands-on projects, and collaborating better with peers and instructors. In each HOL class, students set a behavior focus plans, complete projects, prepare and eat a meal, and have an English lesson focused on everyday communication. An HOL in a Box toolkit has recently been produced for roll-out in a larger number of schools.
