Although she has said these 13 tracks are mostly offcuts from last year'sTension, there's zero drop in quality as pop's flirtiest little glitter fairy keeps magicking up the dance floor delights.

As a piece ... ‘Tension II’ is embedded in Kylie’s more up-front pop tendencies. That’s no bad thing – she’s the best around, after all – but it does make the project feel a little slim in places.
Tension II is certainly not the most singular album in Kylie’s vision; if anything, it seems like a set of leftovers from a previous session she’d like to release so she can get onto new recordings.
It is not wholly without flaws ... but still manages to solidify that Kylie will always be someone we just can’t get out of our heads.

Kylie Minogue brought the best of her disco and house-inspired dance-pop and incorporated aspects of genres that had peaked more recently, especially Brazilian bass. Tension II is certainly better than its predecessor, simply because the songs are a little better produced than in the previous album (with the exception of the immaculate "Tension" and "Padam Padam"). There isn’t much to say about this follow-up: it’s the classic Kylie as always, with dance/electropop tracks that aren’t overly groundbreaking and could easily be considered generic. Like most sequels, Tension II falls short of greatness when compared to its predecessor. The first half is on-par with the original album's first half, but every single collaboration tacked on the back half excluding Edge of Saturday Night are mediocre and awful in so many ways.
