Audacity is a free audio editor. You can record sounds, play sounds, import and export WAV, AIFF, and MP3 files, and more. Use it to edit your sounds using Cut, Copy and Paste (with unlimited Undo), mix tracks together, or apply effects to your recordings. It also has a built-in amplitude envelope editor, a customizable spectrogram mode and a frequency analysis window for audio analysis applications. Built-in effects include Bass Boost, Wahwah, and Noise Removal, and it also supports VST plug-in effects.

Good audio editing software, even better than some commercial editors. Getting the separate MP3 coder, ie. Lame, is minor hassle, but it should come in the same download. Inserting words or similar small parts of audio in the edit is relatively complicated. "Maintain phase continuity" when cutting or inserting should be a permanent settable option. Option to use the mouse wheel to move within the edit would be nice feature. Reviewed version: 1.3.14 beta.

This is excellent freeware, Ive recorded a lot of audio dialog with this for use with other programs and it works flawlessly.

Herjasi kaikista versioista, joita kokeilin, ettei ole yhteensopiva tämän version kanssa. Eikä audacityn www-linkki tuntunut toimivan, joten käytän vanhempaa ja vakaata versiota ja johon saa toimivan Lame:n
